From personal knick-knacks and crystals to emotional losses, people left quite a few unique things behind in an Uber and the list just might make anyone chuckle.
Absentminded people will understand how painful it is to forget your favorite scarf or sunglasses in the backseat of an Uber ride. But when Uber released its 2024 Lost and Found Index, listing the most common things that people forget, there was a bunch of unique items that people left behind, and the list progressively gets funnier with each entry. There were also several other interesting highlights on the index.
The list included everything from a frontal hair toupee, hot sauce and a breathalyzer to a leaf that was much needed in the car for some reason. There were other things like two containers (with spiders), a Beyonce fold-up fan, a ceramic cat, a tray of meat pie that unfortunately might have gone rotten before it was found and a ceramic cat or a jar, bizarrely filled with oysters. There were personal knick-knacks like a personalized blanket with a picture of the person and their dog, a candle that said, "See you in court," a painting from Seaworld wrapped up in a roll that the person loves, a "Harry Potter" wand engraved with the name "Alexander" and a framed Taylor Swift autograph.
There were also some mildly scary things that drivers would not be happy to find in their car. These included but were not limited to a small rat skeleton prop, a fake tooth/retainer (a really small plastic piece with a fake tooth in it), a gray tub of surgical implants, a live pet turtle, a small box containing a gnome, a panic button, a spear and a furry fox tail, a wizard woman, a garden fence, police-grade handcuffs and a fake butt! "Expensive blueberries that are special, that I need that the store is completely out of. There are two packages that I absolutely need," a person wrote. Things like "girlfriend's pregnant pills" and a burrito steamer were also there.
Other weird things might make people wonder how they could've been forgotten, like some lotion, a person's thong, a panty liner and 1000 bucks, a cardboard cut-out panda, three feathers, a paternity test, a fart sensor and a Bravo Con wristband. Someone also unfortunately lost their WWE championship belt. Another person lost something very specific: "Three Japanese ceramic decorative cats – one gold, one black and one pink. All fist-sized." Another person who forgot their Jeep Liberty Engine urged the driver to call them soon to get it back. Some people might have lost things they got on a shopping trip, such as meditation crystals, undergarments, bread, a pack of ham and mayo and their father's beard softener.
Funnily enough, people also frequently forgot food items. Some even leave funny messages along with the information that they've lost something. "I left the ice cream cones in your car and was worried about it melting and making a mess," a person wrote. "A nice cheese. Feel free to keep!" another one expressed. "I left some pasta in the back by accident. Feel free to have it! It was so yummy and I didn't eat out of the plate. Thanks again!" yet another shared. "Tomatoes (Don't need 'em back, just a heads up so they don't cook in your car!)," someone joked. Red was the most lost color, while Mini Cooper Car keys were the most frequently forgotten ones. People also frequently lost crystals, pointing out how they are getting more and more popular. Meanwhile, people reported emotional losses more than ever this year.
