Woman has hilarious exchange with Uber Driver after running out of gas during the ride

People choose Uber rides to have a hassle-free ride to their destination. The purpose of picking a ride is to skip any trouble and relax before one gets to the destination. No one wants to encounter an issue of the car breaking down or running out of gas during an Uber ride. However, Summer Jones—who goes by @901sumo on TikTok—had quite an experience after her Uber driver ran out of gas while she was on her way. Where most people would be furious and agitated, Jones made the best out of the situation and had one of the most hilarious interactions with the driver.

She recorded a part of the conversation and shared it on TikTok. In the video, the driver can be heard saying, “This is not funny. We really did run out of gas interstate.” Surprised as she was, Jones couldn’t believe it and kept asking her driver whether they had run out of gas. “We really stopped on the interstate. We really ran out of gas,” she said in disbelief. Jones then tried to figure out what she could do to get the car moving to reach her destination. However, she was so baffled that an Uber ran out of gas that she didn’t know what to say. “It would turn your car off,” she said.

The car ran out of gas and wasn't moving in the middle of an interstate. It was all absurd as it seemed and was happening to Jones in reality. “How far of a walk is it to the gas station?” Jones asked. The driver let Jones know there should be a gas station nearby, given that they were close to an exit. Jones, still surprised, found the situation super ironic and tried to get words to her mouth. “What if they tried to pick us up? What if they tried to get us?” she asked the driver. She chuckled and said, “Who?” Jones replied, “Whoever."

The driver then hilariously assured her, “I’m fighting.” Baffled at her leisure and calm, Jones said with a smile, “I’m running.” The driver then tried to talk to her and asked her name. “My name is Summer,” she replied. “Come on,” she said as the two went out to get gas. The driver seemed carefree, while Jones was scared for her life, somehow still finding the situation ironic. “We walked into this gas station. She was talking about something,” Jones said. To elevate things and make them easier, the driver asked Jones whether she’d like to make some plans.

“Do you have your solar eclipse glasses? Wanna watch the solar eclipse together?” Jones shared the driver’s offer. “I look and I say, ‘Girl, what the hell?’” Jones hilariously said. She then pointed the camera towards the driver, who was laughing herself off. “She just laughed,” Jones said. As bizarre as the situation seemed, the driver managed to calm Jones down and had a fulfilling conversation along with getting the gas back to the car safe and sound.
