Toddlers have an uncanny ability to keep their parents on their toes every moment of the day. As soon as they figure out how to walk—or, more often, run—they set out to explore the world with a fearless determination. It’s during this phase that these curious little adventurers can easily turn a household completely upside down in no time. TikTok mom @briaallyse shared a perfect example of this in a now-viral video, where her two toddlers hilariously try to defend themselves after being caught mid-mischief. The clip, which has garnered over 1.3 million views, is a testament to the universal truth of parenting toddlers: expect the unexpected.
The 2021 video begins with the mom walking into her kitchen, where she finds a half-eaten chocolate cake sitting on the counter. She asks her toddlers, "What happened to mommy's cake?" The camera first focuses on Kasen, whose face is smeared with chocolate. Despite the evidence, the little boy indignantly denies involvement, yelling, "No!" The mom then turns to the younger sibling, Baylor, asking, "What about you? Do you know what happened to my cake?" Baylor, who is just starting to talk, points to the mess and innocently declares, "Cake." With chocolate-covered hands and faces, the siblings stick to their story and refuse to confess. The cherry on top of this adorable chaos? The two kids had each other’s backs through the entire interrogation.
The Cannizzaro family posted this video with the caption, "It’s always cake time in this house apparently." The cute little thieves gathered many fans, receiving over a thousand comments. "He said someone broke in and smeared them with frosting. I believe him," wrote @udontknowme787. "My clients are innocent and I will have to ask all questions to cease and desist when I am not present. Thank you," joked @l.e298. "The way the baby was looking for the alibi like, 'What was I gonna say?'" commented @ralphiereview.
Speaking of toddlers being sneaky, the story of 2-year-old Barret who ordered 31 cheeseburgers from his mom's phone, has been making its rounds on the internet. As first reported by CNN, the little boy yanked his mom's phone while she was working on her computer. While his mom thought that he would just be looking at his reflection on the phone's camera as usual, the toddler started pressing the screen and "swinging it around like his arm was a roller coaster." A while later, a notification from DoorDash popped up on the mom's phone saying that her order would be delivered a bit late.
The mom's confusion was resolved when a giant McDonald's bag of 31 cheeseburgers was delivered to her. Barret's mischief led to an accidental order and the mom mentioned that no one in their family liked cheeseburgers. So, she simply posted on her town's Facebook page offering free cheeseburgers and it instantly blew up. Not only did Barret pay for the cheeseburgers, which came to around $91, but he also left a generous 25% tip. "I hope it spreads a little humor in a sad dark world," said the mom. The little boy's naughty endeavor went unexpectedly viral on social media and was shared on YouTube by First Coast News.
