As we anxiously wait for all the votes to be counted across the nation, some netizens have taken it upon themselves to bust the "He's coming for your paycheck!" hoax
With Joe Biden on the verge of clinching the presidency, the question at the heart of the latest Twitter trend is this: "Are you even rich enough to be affected by his tax plan to complain about it?" Twitter users have been coping with their post-election stress by trolling those who say they are afraid of the former vice president's tax plan when in reality, their income levels are nowhere near what would move them to a higher tax bracket. As Independent points out, Biden has repeatedly clarified that he will not impose any new tax burden on anyone making less than $400,000 a year if elected president, i.e. the vast majority of Americans.

However, this hasn't stopped the Trump campaign from invoking the Democratic presidential candidate's supposed high-tax policies every chance they got in the hopes of scaring away potential Biden voters. Meanwhile, they've conveniently omitted to mention the tax cut Trump passed early in his term which mostly benefited the ultra-wealthy; something Biden has long railed against.
