They have been hanging out with each other everyday for more than three months now, doing fun activities together.
Sometimes, the most unexpected friendships remind us of the kindness still present in the world. This is exactly what happened when twin brothers met a 94-year-old man named Nick, leading to a friendship they never saw coming. The touching story was shared on the subreddit r/mademesmile by u/mindyour, where the brothers and Nick can be seen enjoying each other’s company and becoming fast friends.
"A 94-year-old stranger brought us a bucket of tea milk and sugar. If only we knew the friendship was about to form after his handshake," the text overlay reads. "We were shocked to see a 94-year-old man doing this." The video shows the old man pushing a cart filled with heavy pieces of wood. "He wanted all the old roof timbers to burn in his home."
"Hard to watch a man who is three times our age do this," the video further mentions. The old man named Nick can be seen doing all the work by himself. He looks like he needed noone's help. The video then cuts to the old man's makeshift gym where the three of them were seen lifting weights.
The next clip shows the three of them enjoying beer after work. "Lots of stories and styles from Nick after work," the text overlay reads. The compilation also has footage that showed the two of them waving hello to Nick from their car. "We are currently doing a loft conversion across the street, and Nick invited us into his home for lunch," the text read. "We are simply builders from the other side of the street." The boys also talked about how the man treated the two of them like their sons.
They have been meeting Nick for everyday for 3 months. The two of them even gifted the man a leaf blower to help clean his home. The men proudly mention at the end of the video, "They don't make men like this anymore."
Many took to the comment section to talk about this wholesome friendship. "I love Nick! I hope these guys still manage to visit him, or take him out for a beer occasionally. I’m sure their friendship increased his zest for life in those three months,"commented u/The-Many-Faced-God.
"A part of me is saying 'why is he having to work so hard' and another part saying 'the movement is how he stays fit and independent,'" wrote u/DueLeader3778.
"Jumping on here to say intergenerational friendships are so important, especially when you did hit the 70+ years. Most people in that man's cohort likely have passed, yet he is still going strong - and probably lonely. I hope those brothers still visit that man. You can learn so much from people that are of different generations and still be good friends," u/Fast_Code_9212 chimed in. "Good thing someone was filing when Nick brought over the bucket of tea, milk, and sugar or I’d have a hard time believing this," added u/NeedleworkerEvening3.
