The trucker was diligently doing their job, but their employers were recklessly being nosy, asking for constant updates.

Managers are meant to guide and provide efficient leadership at the workplace, but many exploit their employees. u/mmmmmpisghetti shared a similar experience, demonstrating that their manager was trying to micromanage them, but they had a hilarious response. The employee revealed they were a trucker and dropped off loads.

“Most of the time, when a broker has you install a tracking app on your phone, you call and confirm you’re on the load, verify pickup, and then they leave you alone,” they explained. However, the trucker mentioned that the management was too nosy and wanted to know every detail to an extent. “They want me to let them know when I get to the shipper. Let them know when I check-in. Let them know when I’m in a door. Send them pictures of the freight, the paperwork, the reefer unit temperature, and the seal on the trailer,” the post read.

The trucker then shared that one of the orders they had to deliver was that of onions. The destination was not too far and the order was not urgent. There was no pressure and it was an easy pickup. “When you’re going to Portland, there’s not a lot of parking options, and there are several pull-offs and very wide shoulders on ramps on I84. I parked one of these yesterday at a place where there’s access to trails and the river. My dogs and I get a hike in and the dogs swim. This spot is an hour from the receiver, and my appointment is at 6 am,” the trucker explained.

Bizarrely, the management woke the trucker up at 2.30 am only to ask for an update because they had parked. It infuriated the employee, who, in turn, decided to give the employers all the updates they wanted and more. They came up with a hysterical solution that would ensure they had the last laugh. “Oh yes, I will send you...updates. So I sent them pictures of me putting on my shoes. Pictures of my dogs taking a shit. Pictures of me making coffee. Feeding the dogs. The equipment pre-trip. Pouring my coffee into my mugs. My breakfast. The GPS shows where I’m going. My truck is ready to go with the headlights on. The building where I’m delivering,” the employee kept listing.

They even got petty and sent pictures of the door, the seal of the package and even the bathroom door to add to the “detailed updates” the employers were harassing them with. “You want updates. I will give you ‘all the updates,’” they concluded. People applauded the employees for their ingenious response to the reckless management. u/Hateful_316 said, “And this is why I don’t micromanage the drivers I dispatch!” u/Winterwynd said, “Thank you for the dog tax. Excellent, micromanagers get what they deserve.” u/Iceloadtrucker2008 remarked, “You wake me up at 2:30 am? You’re lucky I take the load. And if I did, they wouldn’t be getting any pictures or much in the way of communication from me.”
