Traveler reveals how she always manages to get an aisle or window seat on flights and it's ingenious

Frequent flyers will easily attest to the fact that aisle and window seats are way more comfortable than middle seats on most flights. The aisle provides easy access, freedom to stretch and, most importantly, bathroom accessibility. The window seat, on the other hand, offers amazing views and a place to completely tune out. The middle seat tends to feel cramped and suffocating for most people. Sadly, most travelers are assigned seats at random or have to pay to get the seat they want.

Fortunately, Bethany (@bxwise) shared a helpful video sharing how she managed to get aisle and window seats every time she went on a flight. The helpful video has gone viral, with over 1.7 million views on the social media site. She begins the video by sharing how she has never been randomly assigned to a seat during the check-in process before a flight. The text overlay reads, "Travel Hacks Not For The Weak." Her strategy begins even before the check-in process and goes all the way to when people book their tickets.

She tells people, "You know when you're typing in all the information and then it says do you want to pick your seat? Don't even look at that!" Bethany insists that people completely skip the screen and finish their booking. The next step of her strategy was 24 hours before the flight as the airline began allowing people to check-in. She states how people who wanted the aisle or window seat had to be one of the first people to check in immediately. At this point, people would also be able to see that they have most likely gotten an aisle or window seat.

Bethany cautions people against taking a "sneaky peek" at the different types of seats that are available. Doing so and not paying for them would result in people being put in middle seats. The woman substantiates her claims by saying that she experienced this one time. She says, "The last flight that I booked, I looked. This was the first time I ever got a middle seat."

The woman mentions how people could choose to be the "brave soul" and see the different types of seats without buying one and tell her if they ended up with the middle seat. People loved the woman's video and shared their own approaches to getting the seat they wanted on flights. @queer.ginger commented, "My anxiety could never leave that to chance. I pay for the window seat as close to the front of the plane as possible." @skeetmi pointed out, "You check in as soon as you can and it assigns the best seat available. Sign in later; you get middle seats because that is all that is left."
