Traveling or hiking to mountains is not everyone's cup of tea. One needs to be prepared for the worst. Not only the weather conditions might be extreme, but there might be no restrooms or restaurants on the way. However, it is all about the experience and the view a person will enjoy from the mountaintop. But some people do not understand this part about traveling and leave absurd reviews on travel websites.

Helvellyn is the third highest mountain in England and is at 3811 feet. It is known for hiking trails and is listed as one of the things to do in the Lake District on TripAdvisor. One of the recent reviews has a heading, “Too steep” and the person goes on to write, “Far too hilly. Spoiled a nice walk. There were also no facilities at the summit, not even a coffee shop.” Responding to the person’s review, another person wrote, “The Lancashire Wanderer, why to spoil the view with a coffee shop and don't climb mountains if ya don't like hills. Helvellyn is an amazing walk and I'd highly recommend it. ha ha ha ha.”

That’s not all. Last month, another person reviewed the hiking trail and said that it was the worse experience of his life. He wrote, “Firstly, I had to go to the bathroom halfway through the hike and there were no facilities. I ended up having to go behind a rock and it was extremely inconvenient. I mean, how could they not have a single toilet on this entire hike? Do they expect people to just hold it in or something? Ridiculous.”

“Secondly, all the other hikers on the trail seemed to be annoyingly competent and made the hike look way too easy, bunch of smug gits! To make matters worse, my girlfriend was complaining the entire time about how hard the hike was and how she wished we had just stayed at the hotel. Ugh, some people just can't handle a little bit of exercise,” the person wrote.

He also complained that the views from the top of the mountain were not “impressive.” “I mean, seriously? That's all we get after all this hard work? A mediocre view of some hills and a lake? I've seen better views from my backyard. I would not recommend this hike to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and just stay at home. Trust me, you won't be missing out on anything,” he wrote. There are a total of 320 reviews about the location on TripAdvisor and more than 280 people have rated it 5 stars and about 28 people have given it a 4-star review. Only five people have given one-star and two-star ratings.

Most of the people who have visited Helvellyn loved it. A reviewer wrote, "If you’re staying in/around the Lake District and fancying a good mountain trek, I could not recommend Helvellyn enough! We originally stayed to climb Scafell Pike which is also a must but we found that Helvellyn was actually our favorite - the views are incredible every single part of the way. A bit trickier but far more rewarding in my opinion."
