For many, getting a chance to showcase their talent is a big deal—especially if they've been away from their passion for some time. Such was the case for Nick Edwards, a dad who got a heartwarming surprise on "Britain's Got Talent" when his daughters set the stage for him to sing. Edwards was attending the show as a regular audience member with his family, completely unaware of the emotional surprise waiting for him.

The surprise kicked off when two adorable little girls in matching outfits walked on stage with their grandmother. "Oh my god, so cute," Amanda Holden, one of the judges, said. "Who we got here, hello." One of the little girls answered, "Cali." In a video shared on YouTube by the popular show, the dad can be seen in the audience saying, "That's my mom, are you joking." Meanwhile, the other girl answered, "Savannah." The judges asked if the girls were sisters and who they had brought with them. Holden inquired about their ages, and Savannah responded that she was three, while Cali said she was four. Their nanna then asked the girls, 'What are we here for?' Cali replied, 'To surprise Dad.' The audience and judges were in awe upon hearing this, while their dad began to get emotional.

"What's going on?" one of the judges asked. "Well, Nick doesn't know anything about it and we are surprising him because we want him to come and sing. Because he sings a lovely song for the girls," the grandma shared. "Come along, Nick." Edwards was in tears as he continued to sit in disbelief. Everybody started applauding and cheering for him as he came onto the stage. Alesha Dixon commented, "You just thought you were going to have a lovely day out." Edwards remarked, "I did. We had the whole day planned." Bruno Tonioli chimed in, "Well, that's changed." The man agreed, "It's a complete shock to me." His mom shared, "He said he'd never do it, so we had to do it for him."

"Why did you say you would never do it?" Dixon asked. "I think over the years, I've lost a lot of confidence in my singing. So yeah, I tend to do it at home in the shower," Edwards admitted. Holden suggested that he get some water and come back. Edwards had the lyrics at his feet and gave a beautiful performance of "Daddy’s Little Girl" by Ernie Halter and it left everyone at the show in tears. The dad ended up getting a standing ovation from the judges and audience. "It was so sweet, you've got a nice voice," Simon Cowell remarked. "You have such a beautiful voice. That was a really, really lovely surprise," Dixon added. "There's not a dry eye in the house," Tonioli remarked. Edwards ended up getting a "yes" on the show from all the judges.

People took to the comments section of the video to appreciate the moment. @mstmarieprov wrote, "That pause when the singer stops and the audience is silent, that's when you know everyone felt the same way you did. I love that kind of energy." @lukelambert4595 commented, "As a father of three daughters, I found this amazing. As soon as I dry my eyes, I’m headed straight to my guitar and learning this song. Awesome song." @Teylaj remarked, "The support he has from his mother is unmatched. She knew what she needed to do to support her son and get the whole family involved. I’m in tears."
