McIntyre not only 'stole' her food, but he also took other items from her home.
While it depends on the individual whether they like their own cooked food, some people cannot get enough of what they spend hours preparing. Similarly, a woman from Corby, England, Jane Miller, who finds comfort in her home food, found the perfect excuse to take a cruise vacation: indulging in exotic dishes prepared by Michelin-starred chef Marco Pierre White. Little did she know that her own dishes were being served to her as part of a prank played by British comedian Michael McIntyre. During one of his 'Big Show' episodes, Miller was featured without knowing she was on BBC One. A hilarious video shared on the YouTube channel of @BBC showed Miller’s amusing reactions when they served her dishes.
McIntyre began his pranks as Miller, along with her daughter, Laura, entered the cruise dining area. The comedian did his homework by “raiding” Miller’s freezer at home before she visited the ship. “Jane is here holidaying on the cruise, and we are going to serve her own food back to her,” McIntyre told White, his "partner in crime." White even humorously pointed out, “So, you've turned into a food thief.” Following this, the comedian revealed the food items he stole from Miller’s house. It included her self-cooked soup, whose container had “spic-ey” written on it. Apart from that, he also sourced her shepherd's pie and a lovely bread-and-butter pudding. He planned to dress up the meals so that even Miller wouldn’t recognize them.

McIntyre asked White to take care of the food as he had to keep his eyes on the entire setup. The show crew had rigged the fine dining restaurant inside the cruise with cameras to capture Miller’s reactions. On top of it, the restaurant was filled with actors posing as diners as Miller and her daughter arrived. Interestingly, McIntyre had stolen a painting from Miller’s house, which was put on display on the front wall for shock value. The comedian had also plucked some clippings from the bushes in her garden, and it was the ingredient they were going to use for the soup’s makeover.
“We've selected the very best ones for you, and we're going to pop it on either side of your spicy soup, which is now entirely called velouté of spiced autumn vegetables,” McIntyre hilariously suggested. White followed his request and perfectly transformed the soup into a dish straight out of any Michelin-star chef’s kitchen. Miller inspected a cutting of the bush and smelled it, leaving McIntyre and White in stitches. “Gorgeous! I would rate it eight out of ten,” Miller said, rating her own food yet not recognizing its familiar “spic-ey” taste. “Could do with a bit more kick,” she added, prompting White and McIntyre to burst into laughter.
The prank did not stop there, as McIntyre had something more planned for Miller. During his visit to her house, he also took two of her newly purchased tops. Among his planted guests, two women showed up wearing the same tops. “The ladies behind you have got my top on,” Miller said to her daughter in complete shock. Following this, her shepherd’s pie transformed into what was described as "Ragout of Dexter Beef Pommie Puree," and it was also presented. “Do you know that tastes like the shepherd’s pie that I do?” she said after tasting it, adding, “It might be special mince, but to me, it’s my mince.”
It didn’t end there. "When I went round to Jane's house, I saw an ornament of her pride and joy," McIntyre said while showing a showpiece of her beloved dog, Milo, and placing it on a cake to serve to those sitting next to Miller's table. As soon as she saw the "ornament" of Milo, she was in disbelief and said to her daughter, "Oh my God, it looks like Milo." After that, her homemade bread and butter pudding, transformed into "pain perdu à la crème anglaise," was presented, and White himself showed up at the dining area. "I love your tops. My daughter would like them," he told the women donning Miller’s tops. This prompted Miller to whisper into her daughter’s ear, "They are my tops. He thinks they are elegant."
