The lives of celebrities seem so different from those of civilians that it is hard to believe that they ever led 'normal' lives with unglamorous jobs. Therefore, when Tom Hanks revealed his past job as a Hilton Hotel Bellhop, the audience of "The Graham Norton Show" went into total shock. The cherry on top was the fact that he served as a bellhop for Cher, reports PEOPLE. The whole reveal took place on an episode of the talk show where Cher and Tom Hanks were accompanied by fellow actors Julia Roberts and Timothée Chalamet. The host and Cher steered the discussion toward past jobs, which prompted this reveal by Oscar winner Tom Hanks.

The interview began with Julia Roberts gushing about sitting beside Cher. She blurted out, "I am sweating right now, sitting next to Cher. My cheeks are hot. I regret wearing a sweater." This caused Norton to talk about the long association Cher has with the show. During this conversation, Cher pointed out an embarrassing gig Norton took at the beginning of his career. The gig reportedly only had one viewer, the superstar Cher.

The topic of Cher prompted Hanks to share how he served as a bellhop to the singer and actress once several years ago. "I have worked for Cher. I was a bellman at the Oakland Hilton Hotel," he shared. This revelation took Cher aback as she could not believe that she had crossed paths with the actor and did not remember. "You were with one of your rock-and-roll husbands and we had your bag. And then word came down, 'Hey, run this up to Cher's room,' so I did," Hanks continued, "I knocked on the door and I put it down and you came out and said, 'Yeah, that's it. Thanks, kid.' And that was it." The incident happened sometime in 1975 or 1976. During this time, the singer was at the height of her career and in a well-publicized relationship with Allman Brothers Band frontman Gregg Allman.

Cher remained the center of attention throughout the entire conversation. The actor shared how he is a big fan of her work. The sentiment was echoed by the other two guests. Chalamet, 27, and Roberts, 56, chose "Moonstruck" and "Silkwood" as their favorite Cher movies respectively. Cher, on her part, humbly stated that she is not that big of a fan of herself. To this, Hanks replied, "You're missing out." Seeing the Cher fanclub form, Hanks suggested, "I think we should all go to the theater and watch Cher's movies right now." Roberts enthusiastically declared, "Let's have a Cher-a-thon!" Hanks, Cher and Roberts continued their meet-up even after the show. The singer posted a series of snaps with both actors on her social media.

Hanks shared in his previous interview with The Telegraph that he had no qualms about returning to his past job for an adventure of a lifetime. This adventure was an opportunity to be on a lunar mission. He shared, “I would like to be the guy in charge of serving food and making jokes to and from the moon. If there was room, I would be the guy that cleans up, makes jokes, tells stories and keeps everybody entertained. I’m your man. I would probably sign up right now!”
