Being a toddler parent might seem like a new adventure to many every day. As the little ones explore and learn something new daily, parents also create new experiences with them. This includes introducing kids to new kinds of food with different tastes and textures. Some of these sessions turn out to be fun while some end up being a disaster. Recently, one such disastrous yet hilarious tasting experiment was shared by a dad, Austin Geter, on his family's TikTok account, which goes by @charlie_and_aj. The dad of two showed his daughter's epic reaction to eating grapefruit for the first time and it's a laugh riot.

In the video, Geter and his 3-year-old daughter Charlie are set to begin the tasting. While she was expecting a watermelon, her dad showed the grapefruit and said he wanted her to try an "orange." He then clarified that the "orange" was called "grapefruit" which was something new for Charlie to learn. When Geter asked Charlie if she was excited to try the fruit, she hesitantly nodded yes. "Let me cut it off the screen so that my video doesn't get banned for having a kitchen knife," joked the dad before cutting a piece of the grapefruit for Charlie to taste.

Though Charlie agreed to taste a new fruit, she still wasn't so sure about it and her expression gave away her uncertainty. She flinched a little as her dad sliced up the grapefruit. "Now, take a big bite," said Getter, to which Charlie replied that she wanted to suck the juice from the fruit rather than eat it. The moment she had a taste of the fruit, she instantly started gagging and wiping off her tongue. She couldn't withstand the sourness and bitterness of the fruit and her facial expression said it all. Seeing her completely disgusted reaction and gagging, the dad couldn't help but laugh. When Geter asked what the grapefruit tasted like, Charlie replied, "Tastes like orange grape. Poop," and the dad jokingly added, "Okay, that makes sense."

With close to 100K views, this video left people in stitches. Viewers found Charlie's reaction absolutely hilarious and some even suggested ways to make the fruit taste less bitter and sour. "She looked nervous before you even gave it to her," commented @aprilpulliam. "She was not expecting that flavor, Dad. Oranges don’t taste like that!" wrote @pinklady032. "Dad, you knew it was sour. Booo. My mom tried this with me and I have never eaten one out. I tried it again! Charlie, you nailed it," commented @lmassey3o. "Try grapefruit with powdered sugar on it. My dad used to make that for me. It's so good and takes away some of the sour," wrote @marciaanne.

If Charlie's reaction tickled your funny bone, there's another instance of a hilarious reaction to weird-tasting food. A few months ago, WIS 10 TV shared the comically awkward reaction of the channel's news reporter Jalen Tart while taking a bite of a Polish-style hot dog and the clip made its rounds on the internet. When Tart was covering the Columbia State Fair, he visited a hot dog stand among many other food stalls. With the man who prepared the hot dog on his side, Tart tried his best to conceal his disappointment with its taste and had a hard time swallowing it without giving away his actual feelings about the food. He simply nodded at the camera saying, "Pretty good, pretty good," but the viewers knew that he was having a tough moment there and it was an absolute entertainer.
