A pregnant woman who was adopted as a child had no family heirlooms to pass down to her baby until her best friend stepped in to help her.
Some best friends really mean it when they say they're in it for life. A woman who was adopted as a child saw this to be true when she stressed over not having anything from her younger years to pass on to her baby. She regretted not having meaningful items from her childhood like toys, clothes and books for the baby she was pregnant with. This is where her best friend stepped up with an incredibly generous and heartfelt gesture to ease her worries. Felicia Mackenzie Roskam, who goes by @felickafalisha on TikTok, shared a heartfelt slideshow where she shared how her best friend rose to the occasion to ensure that Roskam could pass down something meaningful to her child.
Roskam's best friend Tayler Livengood, who signed her name as Auntie Tay in one of the handwritten letters featured in the TikTok slideshow, decided to make a touching gesture and hand over her own heirloom childhood items to Roskam's unborn baby. The beautiful package by Tayler was thoughtfully put together as a baby shower gift for Roskam to give her baby.
In the first slide, Roskam posted a picture of herself and her soul sister Tayler, smiling and posing for a picture as Tayler placed a hand on Roskam's baby bump during her baby shower. "POV: You were adopted and didn't have any items from when you were a baby to pass down until you opened up the gift from your best friend at your baby shower," the text overlay on the picture read.
The next slide featured a handwritten note from "Auntie Tay." "When you found out you were pregnant, I remember you telling me how bummed you were that you didn't have anything from when you were little. I know this will never replace that but the items below were mine," the letter read. "Some passed down multiple generations. I know we say we are sisters all the time but I want you to know that I hold that in the highest regard. You are my family and there is no one I would rather see these go to than my new little niece."
After the letter, there was another slide with a picture of a "granny square" handmade crochet blanket gifted to her grandma when Tayler's uncle was born. She also included a piece of baby wrap that was a gift from Tayler's great-grandmother. There were two little onesies and a woolen cap for the baby girl and a bunch of co-ord sets and sweaters too. Tayler also made sure to give Roskam some stuffed animal toys from Webkinz, some new clothes and children's books too. Needless to say, people online were shedding happy tears at how wholesome the entire baby shower gift from Tayler to Roskam was and they left a lot of supportive comments.

She is amazing and you must also be pretty amazing for her to do this for you and your nugget." @mommymayhemof3 quipped, "As a mom who adopted I think about these things for my son. And he is only 2. I worry he will be sad about these things." @spudmuffin45 added, "Coming from someone who has gone no contact with my biological family this hits home. One of my best friends is my sister and the love she shows every day means more to me than I can say."

Roskam shared some more heartfelt words about Tayler and her gift in the caption of her Instagram post about the incredible gesture. "Tayler gave me some of her baby clothes and toys and favorite books from when she was a baby. She had also given me hand-made items from her family passed down from generations," she wrote. "I treasure these things, I even kept them separated from everything else to make sure they weren't lost. She truly listened to how I felt, and I couldn't have a more thoughtful best friend. We met while I was in beauty college, and our friendship has been one that has grown into sisterhood. I was her maid of honor, and she was mine. My daughter and I are lucky to have you, Auntie Tayler, love you! Thank you!"
