It is no secret that the definition of good fashion choices has changed drastically in the past few years. However, there are a few things like skinny jeans that the GenZ strongly disapproves of. High heels seem to be the next thing on their radar. A video posted by Amanda Lee Farina—who goes by @amandaleefarinaa on TikTok—shows what is the latest acceptable form of footwear, indirectly hinting that high heels have gone out of style among the younger generations.

In the video, the woman shared how most of the girls were wearing jeans and trainers for a night out at a local club. The text overlay read, "POV, it's a Friday night at your local in 2024." There was a multitude of girls and women doing the usual club things while being dressed in high-waisted jeans, crop tops and sneakers as "Girls just wanna have fun" played in the background. The outfits were drastically different from the dresses and heels that were popular as club-appropriate outfits a few years ago. The video's caption read, "PS it’s also 90 degrees in the middle of July." The video received over 6.6 million views and more than 770.7k likes.

People in the comments section of the video had mixed opinions. While some people felt that the girls were missing out on getting dressed up while others felt that people shouldn't be too bothered about what other people choose to wear. @.mo_bomba commented, "Y'all are all talking about girls wearing jeans and a tank, but nothing about the guys wearing jeans and a t-shirt." @urfavbabyjj pointed out, "Guys this doesn't look like a club, this seems like a rural hometown bar. So what they are wearing makes sense to me." @abby_fry_ wrote, "Genuine question: why do people care what other people are wearing to go out? if you don’t like it then don’t dress like them."

@vegan_lobbyist remarked, "No other time in history were the younger generations less stylish than the older ones. I've envied the younger generations' style every year until now. This needs to be studied." @stace..ann shared, "This is what the green dress lady was talking about and I agree."

For more context, the green dress lady is a woman called Rae Christine who goes by @raechristine__ on TikTok. She raised an issue about the fact that nobody is wearing dresses or high heels at the clubs these days. Christine wrote in the caption, "Don’t get me wrong I believe in being comfortable but I don’t think the club is the place for that." As the video began, the 34-year-old remarked, "I don't know what's happening to club culture but the girlies are not wearing heels at clubs anymore." She added, "As a 34-year-old, do we need to come out of retirement and teach the girls how to wear heels or like what heels you need to shop for when going out to a club." She exclaimed, "The amount of flats and sandals I just saw was like."

Christine expressed how part of the thrill of going to a club was dancing on a couch in your heels." You gotta figure out how to strengthen those ankles so you don't break them. It's a rite of passage." She continued, "I think you don't appreciate wearing a flat if you aren't dancing on a couch in a club." The woman went as far as to question, "What's the point of going to a club if you are not going to dress up."
