The internet can't handle a pet-parent's heart-melting encounter with a stray cat that chose them

In a world of cat people and dog people, it's usually the humans that choose which pet to adopt, even though animals have a way of identifying and trusting souls. This instinct is visible in instances when random people and stray animals instantly bond with each other. One such heartwarming encounter was shared by North Carolina resident Jenna, who goes by @jenna.wlw on TikTok. The pet parent from Charlotte had just dropped off their dog at the groomers, when they found an adorable surprise waiting at the parking lot. A stray cat chose to snuggle up to Jenna and the internet wasn't able to handle the feline's sweet gestures that left people crying happy tears.

The pet parent instantly caressed the little female kitten that appeared to be a Calico cat and got emotional as the poor thing was lost. "I brought her inside (the groomers) and they said that she had been there for months and that someone probably dumped her," Jenna mentioned in the text overlay. The stray kitten was meowing to Jenna as though she wanted help and the pet parent was clueless about what to do. They took her to their car and began notifying the local feral cat non-profits they knew. But the cat seemed quite fond of Jenna's company and eventually Jenna took her home.

The pet parent prepared a makeshift bed and a small resting area for the cat in their laundry room. "Well, this was not how my morning was supposed to go," Jenna said. They didn't want to leave the tiny feline on the streets and decided to shelter her until the non-profits found her a home. The stray cat was absolutely elated on seeing a bed, food and water offered her. Her tail quivered and every few seconds, she kept looking up at Jenna like she didn't want them to leave. Even while having her meal, the feline returned to the pet parent after each bite and wanted them to caress her.

"She's so sweet. She's rubbing all over me," said Jenna, who was overwhelmed by the furry friend's affection. The video that Jenna posted garnered over 4.5 million views within 10 days and people showered their love for both the kitten and the pet parent. "Oh my God! That tail quivering means she's extremely happy and excited to see you," said @theautisticschizo. "The way she kept coming back to you while she was eating has my heart," commented @puparomi. "You were chosen by the cat distribution system. You have to keep her now," added @skyellie13. 

Even though most people suggested that Jenna should keep the cat, the pet parent had their hands full with other furry companions and was unable to adopt this feline. However, they did their best to care for her. Upon knowing that the poor little cat was pregnant, she was taken to the vet, where she was offered shelter until they could find her a home. Jenna posted the most recent update mentioning that the sweet little stray had been adopted. The happy pictures of the cat from her new home were a huge relief for her well-wishers.
