The 'Home Alone 2' scene featuring Donald Trump was edited out from recent broadcast

If there is anything that brings us together as Americans, it's probably Christmas movies. No matter where you're from or what religion you follow, the holiday season is a time of togetherness and joy. Recently, Canadian state-funded broadcaster CBC gave us another reason to be merry this Christmas, The Post Millennial reports. In their 2020 Christmas broadcast of the hit holiday movie Home Alone 2, in which none other than the beloved (read: sarcastic!) United States President Donald Trump makes a cameo, they decided to edit out his scene completely. Some things, after all, simply do not belong in a family movie. The decision to do so has caused quite a commotion across the internet.

The editorial decision was first reported by conservative activist Ryan Fournier, who posted begrudgingly on Twitter, CBC TV in Canada has cut Donald Trump’s Home Alone 2 cameo out of their broadcast. They’re so triggered by him that they had to edit him out of the film. Absolutely pathetic. Following this, CBC TV decided to (somewhat) confirm his claims. When ComicBook.com reached out to the broadcasting company, they simply responded, "As is often the case with features adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited to allow for a commercial time within the format." Hmm, something sounds a little fishy here, but we'll take that answer and run with it anyway.

As one would expect, some individuals were delighted to find out that CBC TV had made the edit, while others severely criticized the company's decision to do so. Depmike38, clearly a right-wing or conservative voter, wrote, What can you expect when they elected the likes of Trudeau. GreatAgainMatty added, Hillary wouldn’t have helped Kevin. That’s for sure! Longbranch303 posted, Although it is pathetic, it's certainly not out of the ordinary for the Canadian Brainwashing Corporation. You should see them in an election. Others called the move childish, infuriating, ridiculous, and even a form of censorship.

While all the conservatives were losing their minds, it appears that the liberals were quietly enjoying their Trump-free Home Alone 2 broadcast. In an earlier interview, actor Matt Damon revealed that the now-President only had a cameo in the movie in the first place as "a clause in his contract demanded a part be written for him if film productions sought the use of one of his buildings." Talk about a big ego. Furthermore, the movie's official Wikipedia page was recently edited to include Trump's impeachment. The page briefly read, "Donald Trump became the first cast member of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York to be impeached by the United States House of Representatives." Trump is already back in the limelight, it seems, but for all the wrong reasons.
