A Texas restaurant owner's epic response to a homophobic customer is going viral across social media platforms. Proving that the customer isn't always right, the owner of Dakota's Steakhouse of Hereford, Texas, chose to support his employees when a woman posted a nasty review insulting one of the staff members. In her review—that's since been deleted from the Dakota's Steakhouse of Hereford Facebook page—the woman named Debbie Eaton declared that she would not be returning to the steakhouse. Her reason? No, not a bad experience with the food served or the customer service. Debbie's issue was with the appearance of her server.

"I will not be back if boys look like women with nails painted and are serving people. Seriously," she wrote in her one sentence review. She unleashed further upon receiving a nod of support from a fellow Facebook user. "Ugh nails longer than mine, eyebrows painted on and make up wtf Scott came unglued so gross oh and a sparkly choker necklace," Debbie wrote. Responding to her review from the restaurant's account, Josh Murray—the owner of Dakota's Steakhouse of Hereford—made it very clear that he wouldn't stand for bigotry.

"At Dakota's Steakhouse we support our staff 100%," he wrote. "No matter their religion, race, criminal history or sexuality; I don't judge. I choose to provide an opportunity of employment for everyone. If this offends you then please stay at home. After all if you could cook Debbie, then maybe Scott wouldn't be looking at his server all night." Murray's response was met with support from other Facebook users, many of whom lit up the restaurant's reviews with praise for how the establishment put its staff before customers. "I love that a business supports ALL people and as a mom of a LGBTQ child and an ally, I would love to come eat at this restaurant," Leticia Wooten wrote. "Keep up the amazing work and I bet your staff are amazing."

"Congratulations to Dakota owner, management, staff and customers for standing up to homophobia, hatred and bigotry and for supporting equality of all people - as stated in The Constitution of the United States of America! I sincerely hope Debbie will amend her ways and offer a full public apology to the server, to the restaurant. May your business continue to thrive and grow and be a beacon in the State of Texas. Best wishes and Happy Holidays from Paris, France," wrote Darryl Perry.

Murray's response to the nasty review gained further attention after a screenshot of the interaction was shared to the r/insanepeoplefacebook community with the caption: "Debbie refuses to be served by trans wait staff; husband even comes unglued at the thought! Restaurant does not care." Speaking to Snopes, a manager at Dakota's Steakhouse confirmed that both the post and response were real and revealed that the interaction took place several months before it found its way to Reddit this month. While they also confirmedthat the Dakota’s Steakhouse server referred to by Debbie was part of the LGBTQ community, they clarified that the employee did not identify as transgender contrary to what the Reddit post states.
