Teen who always wanted a sibling has the best reaction to finding out her mom is pregnant

Sharing the news of your pregnancy with your family can be really special. For a mom of one, this moment became extra special because of her teenage daughter's reaction. In a TikTok shared by @peytonsams29, the teen looks ecstatic as she gasps and jumps up and down out of joy after opening a card that reads, “Congrats, you’re going to be a big sister!”

The message overlay on the clip reveals that the soon-to-be big sister has long yearned for siblings. Later, in a gender reveal, the teen's happiness doubles when she finds out that she would soon be welcoming a baby brother home.

It was a big dream for her and she could not have been happier. Then came another beautiful surprise as a follow-up trip to the doctor brought about another unexpected but thrilling news: her mother was expecting twins, one boy and one girl. “Are you joking?” the teen asks her mom in complete surprise when she hears the news, “Wait, you’re joking?”

"No, it’s twins!” her mom assures her. The adorable clip has gained nearly 4 million views and more than 600 comments from people touched by the teen's reaction. "She'll be a great sister. Me and my brother are 17 years apart. When our mom passed, I got full custody and get to be his second mom. He's 10," commented @rachelledeann. "I’m invested. I wanna see her with them now. Congratulations y'all," @idazm wrote.

Many social media users are eagerly awaiting part two of this video. Peyton shared that she too cannot wait for her siblings to arrive and will update her social media with their videos, once they are born. 

Parents often find adorable ways to reveal pregnancies and a new sibling to their children. In another video shared on TikTok, mom Chauvon Landry, 40, is seen addressing guests at her baby shower, with her 6-year-old daughter Lexi standing proudly by her side.

“I would like to promote Lexi Landry to big sister!” Her 7-year-old daughter, Ava, was then summoned to the front of the room and was promoted to “big-big sister”. Parenting and youth development expert Dr. Deborah Gilboa applauded Landry for helping her children feel like they are part of a team and will have new privileges and responsibilities.

“We started doing this before (Ace) was born,” Landry told TODAY. “Everybody kept saying, ‘Oh, when the baby gets here, you’re gonna have jealousy issues.’ And I thought, ’It doesn’t have to be that way. I’m going to help them realize that they’re stepping into a very important role.’”

“Kids want to feel like they’re part of a team, and (this mom) is doing that, and helping them to see that they will have new privileges and responsibilities,” Gilboa explained. This is an important step to building a loving relationship among the siblings,
