If you have watched the movie “Mean Girls” you would know how the film shows that there is a popular girls’ gang in the school and how every other girl wants to be part of it and they would go to any extent to get some attention from this group. A student named Maya Dodge is now winning the internet by creating a "Mean Girls"-themed video for her student council campaign.

The video was posted by the account @maya4stuco. It is captioned, “Make sure to vote MAYA DODGE for STUCO on Wednesday, May 24th!!” In the video, the students don’t explain why someone should vote for Maya but instead, give their own reasons to support her. The video starts with a teenager saying, “Maya’s single so I broke up with my boyfriend.” She pushes her boyfriend out of the frame. Next, two students can be seen saying, “Maya likes boys so I like boys.” Next, a girl with long curly hair says, “Maya said she liked my curly hair, so I never straightened it again.” After which, a girl says pointing at her Converse sneakers, “Maya has Converse so I wear Converse.”

Later, two teens with braids claim, “Maya said we looked good in braids, so we got braids.” Another student says, “I put makeup on because Maya Dodge puts makeup on.” Then a girl says, “Maya is really tall, so I’m short for her.”  The video ends with a girl shouting, “I’m voting for Maya for student council, and you should too!!”

The video has already garnered more than 35 million views and 5.9 million likes. Many in the comments section asked for a Maya reveal. @1anasbrOoklyn commented, “We need Maya reveal.” @kalise_1d wrote, “This is so cute awww.” @natcon_ shared, “I’d vote just for the marketing.” @ionabr0wn said, “Maya goes to this school so I’m moving to this school.” @vick_gallo wrote, “I’m not even American, but would vote for Maya.”

In a follow-up video, Maya thanks her viewers for all the support and for spreading the word. At the end of the video, she can be seen wearing a grey hoodie backward which completely blocks her face. Despite the video receiving so much attention, no one knows who Maya is or which school these kids are part of yet. However, the account has promised to soon reveal Maya’s face.

In another viral video shared on Reddit, a student is seen proudly running around the venue while wearing the school mascot Cocky’s feet. The video is captioned, “School Mascot for Two Years Decides to Wear Cocky Feet for the Graduation, and the University couldn't be more supportive." As soon as she appears, the crowd in the hall recognizes the school mascot's feet and cheers the revelation. Then she can be seen running around the hall and waving at everybody.

Joe Pompliano tweeted the video and wrote about the student. He wrote, “Meet Sarah Sylvester. She is a biomedical engineering student at the University of South Carolina and served as the school's mascot, ‘Cocky,’ for two years. So, as is the tradition at USC, she revealed herself at graduation by walking across the stage in Cocky feet.”

The 1-minute and 14 seconds-long video has gained many comments. u/Hey_Its_Crosby wrote, “She clearly loved being Cocky. I hope she can find something new to bring her this much joy after graduation.” Many others echoed the comment and said they find it a bit “addictive” to watch.
