The 18-year-old surprised everyone with a stunning ensemble adorned with feathers, pearls and rhinestones.
The 1960s British singer Elton John who managed to sell over 300 million records worldwide, has inspired this teen to come up with the most extravagant prom outfit. What looks like any other TikTok video where a teen is lip-syncing to a popular song turned out to be one of the most splendid surprises for the internet. Max (@max.wertz), an 18-year-old, is redefining what it means to "slay" prom night after showing up in an outfit inspired by Sir Elton John himself. Prom forms to be a memorable event in most people's lives, but this teen made it even more noteworthy by being much more pleasantly extra.
Prom is a memorable event in most people's lives, but this teen made it even more noteworthy by putting in extra effort. Max recently shared his prom night outfit on TikTok, which quickly went viral, gaining 2.7 million views and more than 798k likes. Max begins the video by filming himself in a simple T-shirt and glasses while lip-syncing to one of John's most beloved songs, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." However, as the song progresses, the shot abruptly shifts to show Max on prom night, dressed in white jeans and a white leather jacket adorned with feathers, pearls and other design elements you might expect to see John wear during one of his performances. His white boots are also embroidered with a bejeweled 'M.' His glasses appear to have a glow to them and are rhinestone-encrusted.
Many people in the comment sections did not hold back from expressing their amazement and described the look as "iconic" and "slay." "Like the way my jaw hit the floor," commented @maddyforest35. "I have no idea who you are and how you ended up on my TikTok, but you rocked that outfit!!! Living your best life," wrote @jlg2003. "Oh my god! sure it was the best look of the prom," guessed @mel_.094. In another compilation of his prom photographs on TikTok, it seemed like his outfit was gathering another set of fanbase that would surely make Elton John proud. "Those boots are everything," said @rebecky._. "The look of pure joy on your face is so heartwarming! You did an amazing job!!" complimented @V.
When it comes to adding creativity to prom looks and making them look extra elegant, some people definitely 'understood the assignment.' Ciara Gen, a 17-year-old high school senior from the Philippines, wanted a one-of-a-kind gown for her graduation ball. Taking up a paintbrush and some paint, she decided to turn her greatest passion into a gown. She sat down to draw a pattern and make a plan. She then chose the materials and fabric.
Ciara and her mother worked together to make the dress' bodice and pleat the skirt. She sewed each pleat by hand in order to achieve the ballgown construction she had imagined. The next stage was the most enjoyable - painting the lovely flowers. She improvised by propping her gown on an easel because she lacked a mannequin. This project turned out to be a gorgeous gown.
i made and painted my own gown for my graduation ball! 💚✨
