Using some instances from school's everyday life, the teachers took on characters that mimicked the students in the most hilarious manner.
Since the nineties passed, everything has changed, from fashion to discipline and much more. High schoolers from the 90s didn’t step inside their school campus until their shirts were crisply tucked inside their bottoms with a belt. But when it comes to the present generation, they slack on both fashion and discipline. In one of the funniest videos ever seen on the internet, a high school teacher named Lais Reaves (@laisreaves) demonstrated how the students of the modern-day just roll out of their beds and skip the formalities that previous generations followed so ardently. The video is a compilation of clips from a high school on the “Teachers Dressed as Students” Day.
The video opens with one of the teachers walking through a corridor in a casual outfit including a black hoodie, brown flip-flop sandals and a pink-ribboned head mask. A bag is strapped around her shoulders and a pair of white earphones are clipped onto her ears, the wires of which sling down to the phone in her hand. “Huh?” she asks with a sideways glance full of attitude. Another teacher appears, standing inside a classroom full of desks. She’s wearing a pair of plaid pajamas and a cool overshirt that seems to be slipping under her shoulders and revealing her black crop top from inside. “Got a jacket on. My mama sees me walk out of the house like this,” the woman exclaims.
“What you said? I can’t hear. I got my headphones on,” she yelled, pointing at the brown headphones strapped around her head. The video cuts through to another scene where a cheery blonde teacher appears with peach-colored headphones dangling around her neck. Dressed in a loose grey graphic tee and a pair of baggy trousers, she walks over to the vending machine when the cameraman interrupts her from behind, prompting her to show her face on the camera. The camera then panned to display the school’s corridor where two male teachers were walking gingerly in what could be called disheveled clothes.
In the next scene, a teacher appears like a student dressed in a grey zipper jacket, and black headphones. “Bro, leave me alone,” the cute, plump woman exclaimed, mimicking the students. Following this, the next character that appears in the video is a long-haired woman dressed in a pastel blue tee with a tawny-colored jacket worn over her hands. Slumped into a classroom desk, she looks into her phone camera curling her lashes with an eyelash curler. ”Ladies, pay attention. We’re taking notes,” a voice shouts in the background. Acting like a student, the woman says, “Can you hold on?” The voice in the background says, “I'm about to move on to the next slide. It’s your exam.”
Another character that made his way into the carnival was a man with a mustache. Wearing a pair of shorts, a loose t-shirt, and a cap flipped in the opposite direction, the man said, “I ain’t doing any work today. Oh, phone now.” Soon enough, a cool boy entered the picture, wearing the cap of his hoodie. Someone said, “Put your cell phone in the bucket.” Another teacher dressed up in a whimsical style with a cream-colored spaghetti top, frog-style hairband, a pink beanie cap, a boho-style necklace and a turquoise overshirt. As the camera flashes on her face, she shouts, “Wait, it's my mom texting. Hold on.” The next teacher displays a card tied around her neck screaming, “I got a pass!”
Next up, the camera catches a teacher dressed up like a student who is about to approach the vending machine. This one’s wearing a grey zipper, casual shoes and a bun in her hair. “Go to class,” the voice in the background instructs, but she says, “Ma’am, I am hungry.” One student character seems to be walking through the corridor wearing only socks and no shoes. One student slouched at a desk says they’re going to skip the second period. Just then, another character enters the scene in a pair of what looks like bedtime pajamas.
Another one appears with sunglasses and a packet of crisps in his hands. Meanwhile, the woman in the grey zipper seems to be using the vending machine, which doesn’t accept her card. The hilarious video wraps up with these funkily dressed teachers running and screaming inside the school building, demonstrating the modern-day students. “This may be the funniest day ever,” Reaves wrote in the caption.
Over 80,000 people commented on the video, many of them reminiscing about how high schoolers were way different from how they are now. “As a former European Student I can't relate to the Outfits these are wild,” said @momsaidicangoonlinenow. @p_jas commented, “The fact that some of them are in PJs, slippers and headcaps makes me wonder. Do students go to school like that in the States?” @justreallylikecheetas wrote, “Class of 1998 here- we would never have looked like we just rolled out of bed. We would have been made fun of so bad.”
