Teacher surprises students with letters from 'adults who love them' before their state exam

State examinations can often be tense for students, with the constant pressure to excel. Teachers usually try to prepare the kids as much as possible for it and there are also a few that go out of their way to support them during the stressful time.

Chrishae Powell—who goes by @thatssochrishae on TikTok—revealed how she ensured her students had a smile on their faces before their exam in a video that won hearts online. In the video, the children in her class can be seen opening individual envelopes during their lunchtime.

The text overlay reads, “Imagine right before you take a state exam you open an unexpected letter from an adult who loves you so much." The camera then pans through the class and shows children opening and reading the letters. They all have an instant smile on their face as they read through the lines. "Moms, sisters, teachers, dad, brothers, all came together," reads the text. Towards the end, one of the students can also be seen dancing. The song, "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding plays in the background of the video.

The video soon went viral with more than 2 million views and 360k likes. People on TikTok loved her idea and applauded the teacher for going above and beyond for her students. @soyloverx commented, "Never knew state testing would make me tear up like this." @maryannantonucci8 shared, "Not me about to write and mail a letter to my daughter in college who is about to take her finals. Thank you for sharing."

@mbhdz_ expressed, "First-year teacher here! My kids' test is tomorrow morning and my partner and I did this with our kids today. We had many of our babies in tears from the encouraging words their loved ones wrote. My partner and I also had tears in our eyes. Definitely changed my kid’s feelings for tomorrow." @farby58 mentioned, "This is so amazing. Their proud little faces were so sweet." @user77697613 wrote, "Why did I start crying while watching this? It's so important to be the cheer captains in our kids' lives. We have to continue to motivate them."

As demonstrated by the video, teachers play a crucial role in everyone's life. Their words of encouragement and supportive behavior can shape a student's future and personality. Another example of this is a Reddit video posted by u/davidwallacecto. In the viral clip, a child can be seen playing music on a bucket with two drumsticks and it sounds amazing. Witnessing this, his teacher tells him, "Everybody wanted to get you a new set of drums and so I have a surprise for you. Come here." He looks shocked upon hearing that and follows his teacher as she uncovers his new drums.

The child is unable to believe his eyes and moves around exclaiming, "Oh my God! Oh my God!" He then goes up to his teacher and says, "Thank you!" He soon begins to play his new drums exceptionally well. People just loved the fact that such a talented kid was gifted a drum set by his teacher and some even shared the joy of having their first instruments. u/DuckWithADagger commented, "I remember my first instrument, my first guitar. Waking up in the morning and seeing a new axe on the couch. I remember that warm feeling, that happiness. This video brought me back a few years."
