With her catchy music, enchanting lyrics and charismatic stage presence, Taylor Swift never fails to leave her fans in awe during her concerts. As part of her ongoing superhit Eras Tour performances, the "Blank Space" singer follows a trend of picking out a fan and presenting them her famous black fedora hat from the song "22," as per The Hollywood Reporter. Last Friday, during her performance of "22" at her concert in Sydney, Australia, the singer handed over the hat to a 9-year-old fan battling cancer.

Here's a little backstory. Scarlett Oliver is based in Perth, Australia and has been battling an aggressive brain tumour for the past 6 months. Her father Paul Oliver wrote in a Facebook post that "through the power of social media and generous people, we can give Scarlett a chance to attend her concert this week which is obviously amazing and we are all so grateful. She is beyond excited!" However, Scarlett's wish to meet the "Love Story" singer was not made possible. So, the dad posted a picture of the 9-year-old carrying a signboard that said, "Taylor, can I have the '22' hat please?" and used the platform to boost the reach of Scarlett's wish, saying, "We would love to make this happen for our strong, beautiful girl! You never know what’s possible."

Scarlett's stepmother Natalie Oliver also wrote about the little girl's wish in a post on a Facebook fan page dedicated to Swift. The fan's dream did indeed come true on Friday when the "Wildest Dreams" singer leaned down from the stage, took off her fedora hat and placed it on Scarlett's head. The 9-year-old was absolutely flabbergasted, right from the moment Swift approached her, and was in tears when the singer hugged her with so much love. Thousands of fans screamed in joy when Swift made this wholesome gesture for Scarlett before getting back on stage for a vivacious performance.

Sharing the heartwarming interaction between Swift and the little girl, Natalie posted a video on Facebook. The mother wrote, "Scarlett’s dream came true tonight! We are so thankful to everyone who shared her story to make this happen!! Seeing her face up there is everything to us!! She was in shock and shaking! She’s the happiest little girl tonight. Taylor was amazing!" The power of social media indeed worked its magic in making Scarlett's wish reach the "Enchanted" singer.

As per Cosmopolitan, the selection of person who receives the "22" hat throughout the ongoing Eras Tour performances has been so random. Sometimes the "Back To December" singer offers the hat to people she knows personally, like Selena Gomez's little sister Gracie and Kobe Bryant's daughter Bianka. In the case of Scarlett, it was the power of social media working together with the little girl's good fortune that she got what she wished for.
