One needs to be lucky enough to get neighbors who almost become like your real family and they are always around to take care of you through your highs and lows. A 30-year-old single mom named Amanda Kaye from America has been fortunate enough to have a kind elderly neighbor who routinely checks up on her like a true father figure. On her TikTok profile @amandakayex, she shared a heartfelt moment recorded on her doorbell camera which shows her next-door neighbor showing up to check on her and see if she is okay.

The elderly gentleman called Greg was dressed in a white suit as he rang Amanda's doorbell but realized she wasn't at home. He showed concern as he left a message to be recorded for Amanda when she returns. "This morning I saw you for the first time in about a week. I was just checking to see if everything is okay and you are alright," Greg says at Amanda's doorstep. "I figured with all the heat and everything I'll give a little wellness check. so I was just checking to see if you are okay. Have a good day."

After dropping his message, Greg leaves. Amanda had possibly returned to discover the sweet and thoughtful message he had left for her and her daughter and she felt like she needed to share it with her online community on TikTok which blew up overnight and garnered over 4 million views so far. The viral video was reposted to Reddit by u/mindyour and the community had nothing but positive words for Greg and his compassionate behavior.

u/Maverekt wrote: "Sweet old man. It's great to have kind neighbors. I wonder if he always dresses so nicely, or if he spiffed himself up a bit to do his wellness check." u/sirprichard commented: "Sometimes just knowing someone out there cares enough to just ask how you're doing is such a wonderful feeling." u/squirrelperm12 shared a personal story and wrote: "My 80+ neighbor checks on my wife and I like this all the time. We really love him."

u/tontomagonto joked: "Aww this is how neighbors should be. Unlike mine who look at me like I have 2 heads and speak a foreign language when I say good morning to them." The TikTok crowd also shared the same sentiments as the Reddit commentators and they flooded Amanda's original video with well wishes for Greg. @alexandraavila79 advised: "He’s doing a wellness check on you so you better do a wellness check on him with cookies!" A few other netizens hailed Greg as an angel and wanted to "protect him at all cost." Amanda made a few follow-up videos replying to fellow TikTok users' comments as well.

In one video, she agrees with a commentator who said "the world needs more people like Greg." The single mother is still in disbelief at how millions of people ended up watching her video. She also said how it is an "underrated thing to have good neighbors these days and Greg means so much to her." In a second video, Amanda shared how Greg was the funeral director and they had brought the gravesite from him to bury her actual father. Greg has been taking care of Amanda like a father figure ever since they started living in the same neighborhood.
