Life can be very surprising at moments, especially when it comes to second chances. One domain in life where people are offered a second chance is love. Such changes enable people to learn from their mistakes, rebuild foundations together and prove that people can change. The widely popular Instagram page Meet Cutes NYC (@meetcutesnyc) highlighted this when it shared a video of an older couple and their experience with second chances in love. The video has gained over 3 million views on the platform.

In the video, the duo walks by when the interviewer asks them if they are a couple. Mike, the husband, stops and answers affirmatively. The interviewer then asks them, "Would you mind telling us the story of how you first met?" His wife, Karen, remarks that she has seen the page's interviews on Instagram before.

Mike explained how he was attending a lecture when he saw his future wife and wished that he could sit next to her. He shared that he eventually "willed her" to sit next to him. The man did not waste any time and immediately asked her out on a date. Unfortunately, Karen had a boyfriend at the time who she was quite serious about and said no.

Ten years later, the tables turned as Karen ended up asking Mike out. They spent two years together. Mike went on to say, "And then, because of my behavior, she said goodbye." While this may have seemed like the end of their time together, that was not the case. Mike revealed that he was walking down a street two years later when he saw a "vision of beauty" walking towards him.

He happened to be with two colleagues at the time. But everything faded into the background as the couple "fell into a kiss" upon being reunited after so long. Karen shared, "We just didn't say a word after not seeing each other for two years." Mike recalled how his colleagues were quite shocked to see this. This reunion proved to be a turning point for the couple and they've been married for 37 years now.

The interviewer asks the duo, "What's the secret to 37 years together?" The woman explained how every love story has a series of ups and downs. She said, "It's a constant process as you grow and change through life." Karen concluded by saying that she wholeheartedly wanted to spend the rest of her life with Mike. People onliine adored the couple's story and they put down their insights in the comment section.

@howdyeliza said, "Not wanting to not sound like an old married couple, when they are, in fact, a very cute old married couple." @princess_peppina pointed out, "It's no wonder he fell head over heels for her - she's gorgeous. And so gracious and poised. And what a sweetheart he is. This is a good old-fashioned love story and I am 100% here for it! Beautiful." @andrealburns commented, "Loved that they see each other across the way- after 2 years- and 'fell into a kiss' with no words and that was it. Done deal forever."
