The Hunter's Point project has been a boon to the environment and people. After surviving the hurricane, it is deemed as the star of sustainable housing.
The main purpose of a house is to protect and provide shelter. With the recent housing issues and the rising economy, it's tough to build and get good houses that are durable and sturdy. While many companies are constructing houses with cheaper materials and styles, there is one company in Florida that has been creating top-notch safe and sturdy buildings that withstand the toughest disasters. Sustainable homes have become the new buzz for their strong and secure construction, per Good News Network. While the buildings are designed to give a sturdy and delicate aesthetic look, the build is fiercely strong.
Designed by Pearl Homes, these new structures stood strong amid the recent hurricanes Idalia and Ian while neighboring homes were destroyed. The better part is that these structures didn’t even suffer a power problem. The new structures are designed in a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly way for the added benefit of sustainable living. Called the “Hunter’s Point,” these homes are part of an 86-developmental unit. While 30 units have been constructed, they have already received a platinum rating, deeming them to be top-tier constructions that are worth investing in.
Forbes shared that Marshall Gobuty, the founder put extensive thought into making the project work. “He never quit no matter how hard the situation was in that market, he just didn’t stop.” Blake Richetta, his project partner said. “His work is amazingly important, a prime example of trailblazing and pioneering. He has had a more difficult route than any of the other projects we have worked on, and because of his unyielding resolve his customers will get clean, reliable energy.” Richetta added. Gobuty mentioned that his transformative idea is helping expel over 8 tons of Carbon Dioxide annually.

“What we are doing has not been done—living clean, breathing quality air, having all the technology at your fingertips on your app, to know how much of your home you self-generated this day, week, or month. Our homeowners can say they self-generated 98% of their power, which is amazing,” the CEO said. The Energy Development Officer mentioned,” The governing bodies are helping as our concept evolved. They worked with us to understand how different the code of our home is. They get it, they appreciate it, and most of all, they are supportive of our vision and are assisting us rather than simply taking the easy path and saying, sorry we don’t have a classification for this home, which is the fact.”
