Supermodel Paulina Porizkova, who herself is on a journey of self-acceptance, has urged her fans to accept the reality of aging and embrace it.
80s supermodel Paulina Porizkova has been proudly flaunting the signs of aging on her 58-year-old face in an Instagram post that has taken the Internet by storm. Her unfiltered images, with and without makeup, have wowed the netizens and even inspired them to embrace their natural beauty and the signs that appear as they grow older. Porizkova has also opened up about her decision to not get any Botox or fillers to retain her youthful face and has chosen to age naturally.
She shared a brief video from the sets of a photoshoot. After getting her makeup done by Ivana Tokarska, the model displayed what her face looks like with professional makeup and good lighting. Then, she added footage of her sans makeup look and showed her followers what her natural makeup-free face looks like at 58.
She maintains she has never had any plastic surgery or cosmetic injections and made some funny faces for the camera to show the lines on her forehead and around her eyes. She mentioned a few more things in the caption of her post which read: "I have had lasers and used SPF religiously since my early twenties. I have chosen not to put anything into my face - but even with the fanciest creams and lasers that promise to restore some collagen, I am aging."

Porizkova further added that there are days when she feels like her face has gained some character even after losing its "youthful prettiness" but she considers it as a "fair trade." "This is mostly only if I do a photo shoot, I have to gulp some self-acceptance. I have changed. Fortunately, this change also means being wiser. And bolder. So I keep gulping self-acceptance," she continued in the Instagram post.

She mentioned her boyfriend, photographer and writer Jeff Greenstein, who "finds her beautiful and tells that to her every day with his words and actions." But even before meeting him, Porizkova was already on the path to self-acceptance. "I wanted to be able to accept myself as I am. And needed to know that those who love me - love me for the truth of who I am rather than who I pretend to be or who Iām expected to be. Outside, I have changed. Iām told by society - for the worse. Inside, I have also changed. Iām told by those who matter- for the better."

Porizkova claims to feel "desirable and beautiful" now when she closes her eyes. "When I open them, the world has never been as beautiful as it is now. So another gulp of self-acceptance. Maybe, one day I can just look and see myself as I see others," she concluded the post while thanking her makeup artist too. Porizkova might not be a regular on the runway shows for notable brands anymore but her legacy in the fashion industry remains strong.
The Czechoslovakia-born supermodel solidified her career on the ramp in the early 80s after getting discovered by John Casablancas, the head of Elite model agency, per Catwalk Yourself. She started her modeling career in Paris and experienced almost instant success. She famously posed for the covers of Sports Illustrated and Playboy and also bagged her best-known campaign with Estee Lauder.

Porizkova also had a brief run as an actress in films like "Anna," "Arizona Dream" and "Thursday." According to Entertainment Tonight, Porizkova tied the knot with musician Ric Ocasek in 1989 but they separated in 2017, two years before his demise in 2019. They shared two kids together - sons Jonathan, 29, and Oliver, 24.
