School or college assignments involving essays bring out some of the best and most creative writers. Time and again, we see some interesting essays on the internet that went on to get perfect grades or even acknowledged by the topmost universities. What catches everyone's attention the most is the element of humor that the students manage to add to, literally, any given topic. One such hilarious 19-word essay went viral on X with over 178,000 likes and it was written by a student named Alli who goes by @alligarrett10 on the platform.

Alli shared snapshots of her teeny-tiny essay along with her professor's remarks on it and it's absolutely chucklesome. "The assignment description for essay 5 was to write a review on a movie that we had seen. The opportunity arose and I took my chances," the student mentioned in the caption. She chose to write about the 1999 movie "Fight Club" directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter. While one might expect Alli to describe the interesting details of the movie, she went a different direction instead. "The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club," the first line of her essay read.

After a series of empty lines that took up the whole page, Alli concluded her essay with, "That's it. That's the essay." While submitting her one-of-a-kind essay, the student added a remark that said, "I saw an opportunity and I took it. I cannot say that I'm sorry because that would be a lie. Am I proud? Yes." One might guess that Alli scored too low for her lack of effort, but her professor's feedback was truly iconic. "I struggled over this grade for a long time. I finally decided you get a grade for a laugh and how relevant your review is for this particular movie," the professor wrote in their feedback.

Turns out, Alli was fortunate to have a professor with a great sense of humor. They added, "Let me warn you: Do not try this kind of thing with other professors. They may not have my sense of humor." As a result, Alli scored 100/100 on her assignment and also got a straight "A" in that particular subject. Aside from her professor, many others on the internet were amused by her 19-word essay. In fact, @BlueBarronPhoto rightly noticed how Alli had done a "fact check" before writing her essay, pointing to the Google Chrome Tab on her snapshot that said, "The rules of fight club." To this, Alli explained, "I was checking to see if the direct quote used 'do not' or the contraction 'don’t.'"

"I have a 10-page paper about a movie due and I’m contemplating this now," quipped @baiIleybroussard. "Hey Alli, do send my regards to your lecturer and let him know that he’s an awesome educator allowing the freedom to expand creativity and learning. Thank you!" said @70107.eth. "I’d give you 100/100 as well. Why? Because you demonstrated having gotten both the assignment and the film. Moreover, quality, not quantity, wins the day," added @Quackarazzi. Alli later shared an update about how her essay's popularity impacted her professor. When she took their class the following semester, they said, "Hey Alli! I just want to say that your tweet almost got me fired, but if I were going to go out, that’s the way it should’ve been. So, thank you." Humor against all odds!
