Street musician playing Chad Smith's song is blissfully unaware legendary drummer is right in front of him

Getting to perform in front of your favorite artist is something not everyone gets to experience. However, in this case, the drummer didn't even realize that he got to play in front of his idol. He got to perform the famous drummer Chad Smith's song in front of him but he didn't even realize that the drummer was present during his performance. A clip of the incident was shared by a passerby, Joey McCarthy, who goes by @joeymccarthyy on TikTok.

As the clip began, a drummer was playing "Otherside" by Red Hot Chilli Peppers outside a Barnes and Noble store, fully engaged in playing the beat. Soon enough, the camera cut to show Chad Smith, the drummer behind the original beat enjoying the performance and bobbing his head to it. Somehow, the man had failed to see that his only audience included Smith whose song he was playing. The drummer seemed lost in putting up a good show regardless of who was watching him, while Smith inconspicuously sat, tapping his feet to the beat next to a dinosaur-shaped bush, seemingly impressed by the drummer's talent.

People came and went as the unusual scene went on. "Who is going to tell him?" the overlay text of the video reads, expressing the person's surprise over the drummer not realizing his big moment. "Imagine shooting hoops in front of Michael Jordan and not even realizing it?" the caption read, comparing the two scenarios of performing for a legend without knowing about it. The video received over 50.2 million views and more than 7 million likes in a span of just a few days. Many people took to the comments section of the video to express their surprise over the man's unique situation while others felt that it was a huge compliment for a man to have Chad Smith sit and enjoy his performance without even trying to do so.
