Her friends quickly dubbed the character as "Gail," describing her as a wealthy old woman who wore old wedding rings "as Super Bowl rings" and joked about her ex-husbands. For a decade, Savanna laughed off the morning stories about Gail, treating the persona as little more than a bizarre, alcohol-fueled running joke.

The truth came to light after Savanna had a sudden reunion with her stepfather after almost 22 years. During a conversation with him, he revealed that the home they shared was his own childhood house, and the nightly visitors who tucked Savanna in were his deceased parents. The most chilling discovery came when he further told Savanna that they had a family acquaintance named Gail, notorious for her heavy drinking and heavy jewelry. He stated that she had once fallen down the stairwell connected directly to Savanna's bedroom and died.
