'I just want to extend a thank you to all you die-hard fans for all the topics and talking points you’ve provided,' said Scharbach.
In today's time, being a father means a lot more than it used to. Rob Scharbach, 42, had no idea who Taylor Swift was before his stepdaughter came into his life. "I met her when she was 5," said Scharbach. And she became a Taylor Swift fan when she was 6 years old, as reported by TODAY. Now, the child is 13 and he shared that Taylor Swift's music is played "all over the place." "She's constantly dancing and singing, so I thought: 'I should learn a little bit about Taylor,'" he said. So he decided to join the Reddit community and learn about it. It slowly became fun for him. "It gave us a lot more to relate to and talk with each other about." Recently, the proud father thanked people on Subreddit for teaching him all about Taylor Swift.

"I just want to extend a thank you to all you die-hard fans for all the topics and talking points you've provided. My daughter's face lights up like you wouldn't believe when I start dropping knowledge or asking if she's heard the same rumors, etc. I've always had a very close relationship with her, but this has just enhanced that connection so much and I love it. So thank you, all of you, for being such a wonderful fan base. I'm glad she's a part of it."

Sophia was not surprised when her father became a Taylor Swift fan for her. "He is such a good dad. He's a very caring person and he's always putting other people before themselves and making sure everyone else is happy before him."
However, she added that she could not picture her dad doing the internet research. She often chooses Taylor Swift emblazoned T-shirts and other outfits for her dad. Moreover, she also selects songs for him that she thinks he might like.

As for Scharbach, learning about Taylor Swift was all about being a supportive dad. "Yes, it's about being able to relate to her and the stuff that she's into, but it's also about keeping communication open between us now that she's a teenager," he said. "She'll be going through a lot more as she gets older, so having that communication channel open is something that's very important to me — she can come to me with anything, even if it's not something fun like Taylor Swift." He added that this also has taught him how important small things are. "She can be as excited as she wants in our house about anything. Right now, it's all Taylor."
The dad looks forward to someday attending a Taylor Swift concert with his daughter. However, Sophia attended a concert, during the singer's Reputation Tour and has tickets for the Eras Tour to attend with her mother in July. Moreover, Sophia and her dad want to thank the artist for the gift she has given them as individuals and as father and daughter.
"She's given me so many amazing memories with my family and my friends," Sophia said. "We have recordings of us singing and dancing and they make me so happy, and her music did help me through a lot of stuff, especially in middle school." Scharbach wants her daughter to emulate Swift because he thinks she's a very loving and kind-hearted person.
However, one thing that Sophia always wants to remember and cherish is the time and effort her dad put into spending time together. "I'll remember the effort that was put in to even have a memory to take back."
