After their father passed away, these sons gave him a fitting sendoff by remembering what he taught them and it's heartbreakingly beautiful.

The emptiness that one feels after losing a loved one can only be compensated by holding on to the good memories of them. Particularly when one loses their parent, the skills and life lessons they imparted become more valuable to the kids. Carrying on that knowledge might be the most beautiful way of honoring the deceased parent. In a video shared by Myleneβ€”who goes by @mylenemm on TikTokβ€”that went viral this June, two sons paid tribute to their late father by doing something he taught them. With over 4.4 million views in just five days since being posted, the video touched many hearts on the internet.

The short video shows two men dressed in white overalls, protective eyewear and masks spray-painting a coffin. "Their last act of love was painting their dads' coffin the same way he taught them how to paint cars," the text overlay read. The two sons passionately paid their respects to their late father by carrying on the life skills he had taught them. Rather than choosing just any coffin, the sons decided to give it their personal touch. Mylene added in the caption, "Hurts knowing that I lost my grandpa but realizing they lost their dad."

Viewers were moved by the sons' way of paying tribute to their late father. "Your grandpa would be proud knowing their last act of love was using the knowledge he passed on to them," reassured @chapteralix. "You can tell it means a lot to them to do a good job. I'm sure memories were flooding their minds as they painted it. Tell your loved ones you love them today. You don't know how many days you have left," said @bushwic. "This is beautiful and I can't help but feel this won't be the last. Every car they paint together will be a subtle act of remembrance for their dad. To be loved is to be remembered," chimed in @marcelinebelladonna. "Going out in style. Just the way he would've wanted," added @josef.suhonen.

While many found this gesture heartbreakingly beautiful, a few wanted Mylene to share what the result looked like eventually. So, Mylene posted a follow-up video the next day revealing the beautifully painted coffin. While the previous video didn't reveal much artistic details, this video shows the intricate floral patterns and the smooth finish of the painting work.

Indeed, the old man had done a great job in passing on his spray-painting knowledge to his two sons. People were in awe of the stunningly beautiful look of the coffin's exterior. After all, the "last act of love" of the two brothers paid off so well that appreciation poured in for them. "'And as you painted our futures for us. We shall paint your peace for you.' My grandpa loved painting classic cars and my dad and uncle made sure every detail he loved was included," Mylene mentioned in the caption. Even while grieving their father's loss, the sons managed to honor the priceless skill he taught them.
