As he made the call, they were completely unaware of his plans, and their shock and confusion were evident in their voices.

Video calls have become an essential way for people to stay connected during life’s big moments, no matter the distance. But one man took it to a whole new level. Roger, from Ireland, made a Skype call to his parents just before skydiving, sharing the thrilling experience with them in real-time. Their reactions, equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, were captured in a video shared by the YouTube channel Hostelworld – Meet the World.

Just before skydiving, Roger called his parents to share the moment. "Okay, I’m going to jump out of a plane now," he said casually. "So, I’ll talk to you… I’ll talk to you in a second. I’m just going to get this out of the way, okay?" His dad, confused, asked, "Can you hear a word he’s saying? Is he on an airplane or what?" His mom gasped, "Oh, he is jumping out of an airplane!" The dad, now realizing the situation, screamed, "F*** off!" Meanwhile, the mom was in shock, exclaiming, "Oh! Good God." The dad, still processing, commented, "I thought he was on a bus. Argh, you idiot." As Roger flew through the air, his mom couldn’t stop laughing and gasping in surprise, while the couple watched their son freefall toward the ground. "He's doing a selfie coming down in the airplane," the dad pointed out.

The mom looked super excited and even managed to snap a picture of her son mid-jump. "I just photographed ya!" she exclaimed. Meanwhile, the dad shouted, "And we thought you missed us," as Roger shared his skydiving experience with them instead of just talking on the phone. The mom couldn't help but laugh at the dad's commentary. "That's unbelievable," the dad added in disbelief. "I would have never thought that was possible!" The excitement and surprise in their voices added an extra layer of humor to the unforgettable moment. Eventually, both the parents cheered for their son when he finally landed. The mom even clapped her hands in glee while on call. The video caption read, "We went to Bounce Hostel in Sydney to seek out travelers with an adventurous streak. Roger, originally from Ireland, whilst on a trip around the world, jumped (literally) at the chance to take part in a 14,000-foot skydive with a twist!"

"We all know it's normal to call your parents whilst traveling, usually from the comfort of a hostel or café. But why not share your travel adventures with them firsthand?" the caption continued. "This is exactly what Roger did. Moments after his plane started its ascent, his parents, Pat and Mary, received an unexpected call from their son." The video garnered over two million views and was uploaded nine years ago. People in the comments expressed their thoughts on the unique experience the family must have had.

@LoyaltyandLoveAlways wrote, "I need to go back and make a correction on my bucket list. Skyping your parents while skydiving has to be the greatest idea yet." @goodguygary commented, "I tip my fedora at your use of the word 'whilst.' You can tell someone uses Reddit when they have a mastery of the English language." @TravisHeinze remarked, "That's amazing how Skype doesn't cut out while skydiving, yet it has cut out on me over Ethernet. But then again, this looks edited." @Rose_x asked, "How does Skype even work in the air when my call keeps cutting off when I'm at home?"
