Dad who always felt unworthy of son’s love broke down when he received an unexpected gift — and a tearful promise

Children often dream of helping their parents retire, who sacrifice their lives prioritizing family. Despite the intention to do it all, not everyone gets to provide the comfort that all parents deserve. Jun Yuh (@jun_yuh), a young man, however, could achieve what many only wish they could. Well, before moving out of his house, he decided to surprise his father — the man who made him what he is today — with a life-changing announcement. With nervousness peeping through every nerve, on September 7, Jun gave his dad a heartfelt letter, followed by a request to allow him to take care of him forever. 

'We have suffered a lot together'

"Thank you so much for supporting me these past 24 years," Jun conveyed in a note to his father, who took care of him and made sure he always felt loved. "We have suffered a lot together, but through it all... there has never been a single moment when I doubted your love for me," he added. Jun's father, who was clearly overwhelmed, immediately pulled his son into a hug and broke down in tears. In part 2, Jun revealed how his father reacted when he gave him $10k and disclosed another bank account where he had saved $20k for him.

Jun's father couldn't believe his ears, and rightfully so, because for a man who had struggled all his life without any expectations, he was finally seeing someone else prioritize him. "If you give me more time, I will take care of you," Jun said to his father.

Gifted a bag of money

On September 9, 2025, Jun uploaded part 3, where he finally surprised his father with another set of delightful gifts. At first, he gave his dad a beautiful watch, followed by a money-filled bag. "My son, thank you so much, and thank you for growing up to be such a wonderful son. The way you care and think about me so deeply means everything to me," Jun's father said with tears dripping down his cheeks. Growing up, many children see their parents struggle every single day to provide them with the luxuries they never had. And when they grow up to become financially independent, all they want is to honor and give back to them. Emphasizing it, a study by Pew Research found that 55% of people believe that adult children should help their aging parents financially, just like Jun wishes to do.

Meanwhile, reacting to Jun's video, @k commented, "The moment a father is so relieved about his children that he becomes the little kid hidden under piles of responsibilities in front of his kids." @msmeddb said, "As a parent of 2 — 15 and 24 — and a legal guardian of my 2 nephews, 3 and 2, I hope that one day they will love me like this. As of right now, they are all I have, and I love them with all that I am."

'Blessing to your family'

Echoing the sentiments, @klevisahendrix said, "God bless you, Jun! You are not only a blessing to your family, but you also help so many people reach their goals! Thank you for helping me understand social media! Even though I'm not there yet where I want to be, your work aside, your team brought me hope and understanding about this game!" @stonerspice.222 shared, "I had chills from part 1 as well. I lost my dad, and he was my hero. It is making me sob. I am so blessed to see this on my feed and experience this moment with you both. Thank you." @ghnsan_ wrote, "He’s not crying because of the money… It’s the action behind it… a father… who has shown his son the way with blood, sweat, and tears… not a single one shown in front of his kids. For the simple fact that he endured these demons alone, and with that, he showed us that with hard work and determination… you can do anything."
