Son reunites with mother after 12 long years of separation in a tear-jerking moment

Staying away from your family can be difficult. Especially if it wasn't a voluntary thing. Unfortunately, that is the sad reality of people belonging to or living in war-torn countries. A man from Afghanistan who is currently living in Australia shared a video on TikTok of reuniting with his mother after 12 long years. The moment was so emotional that it was bound to leave people in tears. Asif—who goes by @asif.grace on TikTok—hoped that he would be permanently reunited with his mother one day.

The text overlay of the video read, "Reuniting with my mom after 12 years," as the man removed his coat, left his luggage at one spot and ran towards his mother at full speed. He immediately put his head on his mom's feet. "I had prayed for this moment for 12 years," the Asif expressed. The mom who was sitting on a chair tried to get him to get up. But the man refused to let go and started crying. "I never got a chance to say goodbye to my dad before he died," the man revealed the unfortunate incident.

The woman patted her son's back lovingly as Asif further shared, "I pray every day that I can bring my mum to safety and we can be reunited permanently." The man gave his mom a big hug as both of them broke down after seeing each other. "Until then, a huge piece of my heart will always be missing," the son wrote as the mom touched his hand to her head. The video touched people's hearts and received over 4.5 million views and more than 189k likes. People took to the comments section of the video to appreciate the beautiful moment.

In the case of two long-lost brothers Eddie and Randy Waites, an unusual surname and a weather forecast came to the rescue, per NBC News. Randy Waites had never known his family, including his father all his life. One day, when he was watching the news, the name Eddie Waites flashed on the screen for a brief moment. Just the name made the wheels turn in Randy's head as he had never seen any other person with his surname.

So Randy told his daughter Camila about it. The girl looked Eddie up and saw striking similarities between her dad and the man. They were sure that the two were somehow related. So the father and daughter reached out to Eddie who turned out to be Randy's brother. The two had an emotional reunion where they hugged and kissed each other. Randy also had a lot of catching up to do about his family and Eddie was happy to help.
