A bad-tempered customer gave a retail employee an absolute ordeal in a Los Angeles supermarket. Moo (@muyiwadotcom), who was standing in the checkout queue, recorded the entire scene on her phone. The June 24, 2026, TikTok footage she shared captures this rowdy female customer barking swear words at the cashier, complaining to her for “moving too slow.” When it came time to pay, however, the interaction took an unexpected turn. Three different payment cards were declined, leaving the woman visibly flustered.

The customer has the nerve to tell the associate she’s “moving too slow” Like you’re wearing socks with sandals where the hell you need to go 😭 Then her card declines when it’s her turn to pay 😳

Instant karma

The scene unfolded in East Los Angeles’ Sprouts Farmers Market. A woman standing at the payment counter barked at the cashier, saying, “You are doing too much talking. I asked you a question. You should answer me.” Her behavior boomeranged on her with embarrassment when the card she had given to the cashier declined. But she stayed put in her arrogance and grunted, “I have plenty of them.” She shuffled through her purse, took out another card, and handed it to the cashier. This time too, the card declined. "You are fine," the cashier said. When the third card declined, the woman’s tone lowered, and she had to get away by paying via phone.

Incivility of civilized customers

Retail workers regularly deal with abusive customer behavior. A study by Perceptyx found that workers in the retail sector are most affected by difficult and unruly customers. The study analyzed responses of 21,000 frontline workers. 61% of workers in the retail sector reported having dealt with difficult customers recently. Separate research by WaitWhile also suggested that 68.5% of retail workers dealt with angry customers.

Viewers sympathized with the cashier and affirmed that the woman received instant karma for her rude behavior. @princessingdoll commented, “How are people so comfortable with being so rude to strangers omg.” @anomanderrakes said, “She should've announced that card decline over the intercom.” @tianalesha said, "I never understand being rude to service workers especially when they’re helping you!"
