Gabriella and Julianna were first introduced to Becky when they were just 8 and they felt an instant connection.
Mother's Day couldn't have gone any better for Becky after her husband's twins asked her to officially adopt them. "The best gift I ever received," said Becky, who lives in New Jersey. On May 9, Gabriella Ruvolo and her twin sister, Julianna, sat their mom down between them before gifting her a photo book to honor her on Mother's Day. She flipped through the book as Gabriella and Julianna got emotional and tears flowed down their faces. They were trying to hold it together as Becky went through the photos unaware of what was happening. Their father Pete filmed the whole incident. As Becky turned to the last page, her face lit up. "Mom, will you adopt us?" read the final page along with a picture of the three of them. She started crying, head down on the book. "Of course, I will!" she told the 20-year-old twins, "Of course, I will!" The video was shared on TikTok where it went viral, garnering more than 5.2 million views. "I was so caught off guard," Becky told Good Morning America. "When I read that, it was just pure shock and an honor and the emotions of just like, 'Is this really happening?'"
Gabriella and Julianna were first introduced to Becky when they were just 8 and they felt an instant connection. "When I met the girls, I was very nervous, but we hit it off. And it kind of just snowballed and flowed from there into our family," said Becky. For Gabriella and Julianna, calling her "Mom" came naturally. "We met as friends and then she became mom and it was just, from the start, it was like love at first sight," said Gabriella. The twins decided between themselves that there was no better time to ask her to adopt them than on Mother's Day. "We always went to her as we would a mom. She was always there for us," said Julianna. "They were always mine," said Becky. "And now they will be legally too. How lucky I am that they chose me."
Pete married Becky in 2013 and on that day, Becky delivered an emotional speech to Gabriella and Julianna Ruvolo as well. Pete was happy to catch the emotional moment on camera. "To actually see it unfold, just filled me with such a feeling of pride, proud for my girls and for my wife. I know how happy that would make her and it really was such a special moment," he said. "It's possible to have a true family whether it [is] blended or not. And you can have this kind of love." Becky posted the video and wrote, "Something I always wanted but would never say to them. They did all on their own." She shared pictures of herself with the twins and wrote, "Thank you so much, girls. I will always be your Mom."
Their followers couldn't get enough of it. "Your daughters video sent me to this video and I can’t stop sobbing at how beautiful this is ❤️🥰❤️," wrote one person. "My stepmom is my mama so this touched my heart. They can be SO special in our lives," wrote another. "Blood doesn’t make a family, only love can do that! Beautiful share! 🥰," wrote another.
