'She has CEO energy,' the comments insisted

We all know the unspoken code between siblings: a compliment is never just a compliment. Usually, if a brother and sister aren't trading insults, they're plotting something. When Lyz Lenz's (@lylenz) 12-year-old son traded his video games for chef's knives and got a thumbs up from his 14-year-old sister, he didn't think of a hidden motive behind her action. Nonetheless, even though he didn't clock it, his mother did take to social media to share both sides of the story.
It all started with the son getting into cooking, "and his sister has been gassing him up like, 'Wow buddy, you could be on Top Chef!' or 'This is so good! You are so talented!'" At first, just like everyone, the mother thought that her daughter might really like her brother's cooking. However, as it turns out, her daughter had an ulterior motive behind these compliments. She was complimenting her brother, not because of how good the food tasted, but because it was "part of her evil plan to get him to bake her cookies all the time."

As hilarious as it is, it shouldn't be much of a surprise, as kids are always up to something or the other. Moreover, if the brother loves cooking and the sister seems to enjoy being the taster and critic, it is really a win-win situation for both after all. Even more so, this little activity further deepens the bond between these two siblings. According to Demographic Research, around 82% of children below the age of 18 have at least one sibling in their lives. The sibling relationship is usually the longest-lasting family relationship in one's life.
Moreover, people with close sibling relationships tend to have better mental health and stronger social relationships overall. Another study found that 75% of children reported feeling happy with their siblings on a daily basis.

People loved this playful tactic by the sister and shared their own mischievous sibling stories. "My sister is an amazing cook, and we gassed her for her whole life. Now we randomly get the best brownies in the world every few months. Your daughter's plan is perfect," @samantha.harden wrote. Meanwhile, @jennyzukes commented, "We younger siblings always love the admiration from our elder siblings. But she is brilliant. He’ll get better. You’ll all get to eat delicious things. Win/win." While @julie_kineworthy jokingly stated, "All's fair in love, war, and siblinghood."
