A woman living alone with her dog decided enough was enough when a boomer neighbor kept taking her packages even after she told him not to touch them.

Having elderly neighbors can go two ways. They might be the sweetest companions or they can be incredibly rude and, at times, even borderline creepy. A woman, u/AlwaysAngryFox, shared a post on Reddit explaining how she dealt with her boomer neighbor after certain situations escalated. "I'm a single female living in an apartment complex. It's me and my dog. My neighbor across the hall is an old, grumpy, creepy boomer I have never liked since the day he moved in. He keeps junk outside his door, doesn't control his guests, throws food and trash into the common areas and once even tried swinging at my dog with his cane. He's always made me feel extremely uncomfortable around him since day one," the Reddit post revealed.

Despite repeatedly complaining to the apartment complex's management, they did nothing about the problematic neighbor. Whenever someone confronted him, he usually played dumb and didn't bother much. But the woman started getting concerned about a year ago when the man began taking the packages that arrived at her address. "I would come home to no package and have to wait for him to appear to get my stuff. Constantly, I told him to leave my packages alone. He always said, 'I'm trying to help you out.' Now, I have never had a package stolen in this building. I have had them delivered to the wrong addresses but never stolen," the post elaborated.

This issue continued for a whole year. "He would even take them when I was home. I opened my door one day to collect my package only to see him nearly bolting out of his apartment to get it. He saw me and said, 'Oh, you're home,' then went back inside. I had enough and bought a camera. The camera seemed to deter him as he didn't like it. Last week I was expecting a book to be delivered. Mailman drops it off, waves to the camera and leaves. Boomer opens his door. He stares at my package for several minutes before trying to take it into his apartment. I get on the intercom and yell at him to put my stuff down. He drops it. No more than 10 minutes later, he comes back out and takes the package again," she explained.

The woman had enough of the annoying neighbor and finally decided to call the cops on him. The cops arrived and checked the video she had filmed of the boomer taking away her packages. When the cops talked to the neighbor, he had the same old excuse and claimed he was trying to help her. "The officer gave him a warning, saying if he took anything else from my door, I could press charges against him and he would be arrested. My camera also records audio and I could hear him complaining to his niece that I didn't need to call the cops and again he's looking out for me," the post concluded. Fellow Reddit users assured her that she did the right thing by notifying the police about the boomer's suspicious activities and wished her to stay safe.

What he's doing is a federal crime and they don't take that lightly." u/hoangtudude commented, "I have a relative who lives in a neighborhood full of rude boomers. They harassed him and his family even worse than your scenario. He spent lots of money suing them civilly and pressing harassment and trespassing charges." u/Constant_Captain7484 added, "You should keep going and if he does it again, call the cops on it. The only way these people will learn is through actual physical consequences. So call the cops, have them arrest and humiliate him, then press charges and when he speaks to you again to complain, tell him you'll gladly call them again until he learns to mind his own business."
