Tom Jones' emotional tribute to his late wife during a live performance has left everyone in tears...
Sometimes, artists perform out of passion, yet many other times, they come from a place of loss or a personal setback. Most fans don’t realize that some of the best compositions have been born out of tragedies, paving the way for powerful musical pieces. This rare moment of vulnerability was displayed on "The Voice UK" stage when music legend and Welsh singer, Sir Tom Jones, paid tribute to his late wife Linda, who wasn’t able to survive cancer, as per Hello Magazine. In memory of his partner, with whom he had shared 59 years of married life, Jones recalled some of their final, and cherished moments. A widely circulating YouTube video from the British singing competition showed the judges and audiences getting emotional after listening to the 84-year-old's vocal mastery, coupled with the touching lyrics and rendition of a promise between the couple.

The tear-jerking moment unfolded when Jones responded to a request from a fellow “The Voice UK” judge and singer Olly Murs, who was keen to know his song choice for auditions. “If you were auditioning for this show, what song would you pick?” the 40-year-old English songwriter asked Jones during the 2022 edition of the reality show. The remaining panelists appeared excited after Jones revealed that he’d like to sing a song from his album "Surrounded by Time." The audience, too, was equally thrilled knowing what he was going to sing. "I won't crumble with you," announced Sir Jones, sparking a genuine reaction from another judge and “Rockabye” star Anne-Marie.

“Now, this is a very important song, so I try to pick songs that mean a lot to me. This song is trying to tell people that the ones you love sometimes need to be backed up. You need to sort of give them strength and encouragement,” the singer reasoned as to why he chose this particular song. What followed became a landmark moment in “The Voice UK” history. The artist performed the timeless uplifting number, which he originally released in 2021, five years after his wife’s tragic demise. His soulful voice brought the song to life, delivering an electrifying rendition. Sir Jones’ flawless mastery of both low and high-pitched notes left the audience mesmerized, as it became an unforgettable moment of musical brilliance.
“I will wait in the morning if you call, and I'll stand beside you as long as I can. I will hold back the evening of your sun. But I won't crumble with you if you fall,” sang the award-winning artist, captivating the hearts of his fans and fellow judges on the reality TV show. The heartfelt performance had Anne-Marie emotional, with tears rolling down her cheeks. “I can bet this was one of the best moments of my life,” remarked the “Rockabye” singer after seeing Sir Jones perform in front of her. “I was always able to fix things for her. When she needed me for anything, I was always there. But she said, ‘You can’t crumble with me. Don’t fall! You’ve done everything you can. You must carry on and do what you do.’ When I heard this composition, I thought it was written for this situation,” Sir Jones concluded the segment, recalling the uplifting message from his late wife.
