Simu Liu rating food options at the Oscars and afterparties is 'the tea' people have always wanted

The Oscars have dominated the headlines this week for all the right reasons - the awards, stars and their stunning looks. While the piquing interest points of such grand events are always the outfits and the stars, one can't simply deny that good food is also an important factor to consider while passing off an event as an extraordinary one. Come to think of it, it is a question that has grabbed the attention of people for years. What do celebrities eat, especially at the big, classic Oscars? Simu Liu spilled the beans via Threads. Not just that, he also rated the items on a scale of 1-10 and it’s all the gossip one could ever wish for! “Rating the food options at the Oscars and afterparties,” he wrote. 

The actor shared an honest review about the exquisite dishes the stars were served. These included different cuisines, appetizers and more and Liu had an opinion about each of them. Beginning with Oscar 2024, Liu revealed, “Jimmy stashed some soft pretzels and sour patch kids under our seats. It wasn't glamorous but it did its job.” He rated the same with a mediocre 3/10 but was thankful that they had something to munch on during the event. Next, he spoke about the Governor's Ball and revealed that there was “nothing but food,” all the time. 

With a solid 11/10 rating, Liu spilled the beans on the extravagant cuisine set before the stars. He exclaimed, “This was insane. wood-fired pizzas, paella, wagyu, sliders, Peking Duck!? I did nothing but inhale food the whole time.” One can understand that with off-the-top dishes set out, one wouldn’t want to miss even a single bite. The actor then spoke about the Vanity Fair party, where fast food was served to the celebrities. “Ah, the infamous party with in-n-out burgers on tap. Can’t go wrong,” Liu remarked. With a nice 7/10 rating, one can surely tell that the burgers were a success. 

Adding more of his input, the star highlighted the widespread delicacies served at Madonna’s party. With an impressive 9/10 rating, Liu appreciated the number of items and their filling capacities. “Full spread of curry, rice, naan and samosas. I was simply too full, lol,” he said. The stars sure did have quite a lot to their tummies to keep them preoccupied. Where there’s good food, there’s undoubtedly good banter and ambiance to follow and undoubtedly, the events right from the Oscars to Madonna’s party were truly full of energy, glam and fervor.

Chef Wolfgang Puck, who headed the scrumptious catering for the Gov Ball, shared glimpses of it on his Instagram. With mouth-watering peaks of dishes, he mentioned how he and his team of talented chefs await the day and Liu’s 11/10 rating undoubtedly gives away the fantastic job they’ve done.
