When it comes to offering emotional support, animals often surpass humans with their unfiltered love and genuine care. Their altruistic behavior can sometimes be surprising considering the fact that they are not believed to be as evolved as human beings. One such amazing personality was found in this cat, Rico from Morocco, making him popular on social media. Rescued as a kitten by veterinarian Meryem Imrani (@cabinet_veterinaire_imrani), Rico has since been in her care, spending most of his time in the vet's place of practice.

Recalling meeting Rico for the first time a few years ago, Imrani wrote on Facebook: "I had found Rico one beautiful morning before opening the office, mutilated face, hidden state, respiratory distress, etc. I took him in and took care of him hoping to find him a family but I knew that what led him to me, would make him stay. I didn't even try to find him another home." The vet then gratefully mentioned, "I thank the heavens day and night for allowing me to save him. What joy and sweetness he adds to our daily routine at the office." Probably learning from his kind-hearted savior, Rico started to exhibit a compassionate and nurturing personality which was evident in the way he took care of other animal patients in the vet's clinic.

The age-old tall tale that cats and dogs don't get along so well can be seen quashed in this adorable video of Rico interacting with spitz pups which was captioned, "The positive vibes in our reception. Aren’t we beyond lucky?" Rico tends to introduce himself and reassure the nervous pets that come in for treatment. Talking about how he alleviates the nervousness of the furry friends who visit the clinic, Imrani told the Dodo, "He starts licking every pet he comes across."

The adorable Rico is loved by the veterinarian's Instagram community which has over 43k followers. Imrani posted a picture of the handsome poser with the caption: "I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior." Recently, Rico's fame shot up with this heartwarming video of the resident pet pacifying a tiny orange kitten named Caramel that was brought into the clinic in a badly injured state. Rico never left Caramel's side, licking him and soothing him as he was getting treated. With Imrani's professional care and Rico's relentless emotional support, Caramel has now recovered and has been put up for adoption.

Rico probably connected with the orange kitten so well because he was rescued and treated in the same way when he was little. It is a beautiful sight to see Rico bonding with Caramel with a parental affinity. People all over the world were overwhelmed by Rico's love for Caramel. @lyricalbubble commented, "While the medical treatment is vital for recovery, Rico's warm, loving body will be the reason this little kitten prospers." @danielpauleyca wrote, "Sometimes when you're not well, being held makes all the difference in the world." @murielyvalun commented, "Animals are once again teaching us life lessons. Thank you for these beautiful pictures."
