'He told me I did the song justice, and had a look of bewilderment and amusement,' the woman said.
Sure, karaoke nights are fun, but how often do they become a once-in-a-lifetime moment? Monical Gill (@monicalsienkiewicz on TikTok), while on a girls' trip in Palm Springs, experienced an unforgettable karaoke night when she found herself face-to-face with Tom DeLonge — while singing his classic superhit song, "All The Small Things."
Initially, Gill told Newsweek that she, along with her friends, had planned to sing together, but when they backed out at the last moment, she decided to perform alone. Gill wasn't a great singer, and she knew that — but that day, it was her enthusiasm that totally stole the limelight. "I am a horrific singer. I am not being self-deprecating. It is a fact. Ninety-nine percent of the stuff that I do is for my own entertainment. I really don't get embarrassed and just love to have fun and be silly," she shared. Wearing a funny bikini model print dress, Gill took the mic and performed DeLonge's song without realizing that he was sitting in the audience, watching her spectacular performance.
Kyle Goldstein (@websitelandlord on TikTok), another customer at the karaoke bar, saw the most unusual coincidence and immediately recorded the surreal moment. First, he captured Gill, who seemed to be enjoying her own concert more than anyone else, and then panned towards DeLonge, who was equally enjoying her wild karaoke singing. At one point, the co-founder and guitarist of the 'Blink-182' band even chuckled hard, looking at Gill going all extra with her already over-the-top, dramatic dance moves. Simultaneously, the overlay text on the screen read, "She genuinely had no idea that Tom DeLonge was sitting right there." The hilarious TikTok video quickly went viral with over 3 million views online. After receiving an overwhelming response and people asking Goldstein to share an extended version of Gill's karaoke performance, she shared another video from that particular night.
@websitelandlord She had no idea the guy who wrote that song was sitting right there. I told her and her friends and they lost their minds. #blink182 #tomdelonge #coachella @Tom DeLonge @blink-182 ♬ original sound - Kyle | Website Landlord
Meanwhile, reacting to the video, @beauty.by.allinic commented, "This is the only part of Coachella that I want to participate in. The vibes are immaculate!" Similarly, @momofchory wished, "Someone please let a 'Blink-182' musician pop up in my life randomly, too, please." @capitalismliker shared, "Imagine thinking you nailed karaoke and waking up the next day realizing Tom saw the entire thing."
@shelbyshrooms wrote, "This is f****** diabolical & I am dying and also falling in love." @fentastic6 said, "I would also like to have Tom appear every time I sing his songs." On the other hand, @ambrosiathreads commented, "His next show, he needs to say 'work sucks' just like this."

Talking about that epic karaoke night, Gill said, "When I was performing, I just kept thinking of ways I could keep the performance surprising, funny, and interesting. I was also staring at my friends a majority of the time and just trying to get them to laugh. I didn't really notice anyone else because of the lights." When, after the performance, Goldstein informed her about DeLonge, she and her friend ran towards the artist to introduce themselves. "I was a bit starstruck, and it is a little bit of a blur, but I do remember talking to him, saying, 'Did I do the song justice?' and 'I wanted this song to have a lot of angst.' He told me I did the song justice and had a look of bewilderment and amusement," she revealed. You can watch their picture here!
