'Thank you for being so kind and allowing a father to let his barriers be broken.'
A parent might go out of their way to make their child comfortable and happy, and this dad did just that when he approached a woman at his gym with a wholesome request. The woman, Gianna Laumbach, was braiding a man's hair when the dad came up to her to ask if she could teach him how to do it. He wanted to learn so he could braid his daughter's hair with ease. A video of the wholesome moment was shared by the braided man, Greg, who goes by @gbatfit on Instagram.
"This dad saw Gianna braiding my hair and asked to learn for his daughter," Greg wrote in the text overlay of the video. In the meantime, Laumbach explained to the man how he was never supposed to move the middle section after dividing the hair into three parts. "Do you know what I mean?" The dad remarked, "I do, I always move the middle. This is why this is happening." The woman demonstrated how he was supposed to secure the braid by moving the left and right sections of the hair one over the other. "Do you want to try it?" she wondered aloud. "Yeah, you've got to try it," Greg encouraged. With some more instructions from Laumbach, the dad managed to braid the hair.
"You can pull it tight, so it stays tight," Greg advised. The dad practiced some more and seemed to get the hang of it. "It is almost like muscle memory. You just have to let your fingers do it." Laumbach pointed out, "Yeah, you will get used to it." Greg told the overwhelmed dad that he would be there if he needed to practice at any point. "Having a little girl is like... what do you do with her hair? I am getting tired of doing the same thing. I wonder if she is getting tired," the dad expressed. "She is like, Daddy, I want an Elsa braid and I am like, I don't know how to do that." Greg eventually volunteered himself as the "perfect candidate" if the man wanted to practice an "Elsa braid."
In one of the comments, Laumbach expressed, "His daughter is lucky to have a great father who wanted to learn how to braid for her! So happy to have helped out." Other people also shared their thoughts on the effort he was making for his daughter. @nataliegerdano94 commented, "His daughter is super lucky to have him! I imagine him running home from the gym and running up to his daughter and being like, 'Guess what I learned at the gym!' I love this so much." @_weight2go_jonr wrote, "A. The gym is awesome! B. It's a father's job to serve his daughter love on a silver spoon, so she never accepts it from the edge of a knife. This dad is crushing it!"
@__namehere remarked, "I'm so thankful men are taking the time to learn about feminine things, it's SO refreshing to see this. He's a great dad, thank you for showing us this." @thegilded_cage shared, "So a lady taught a father how to braid on a gym bro with crazy beautiful hair so he could go home and braid his young daughter's hair... Please, this is gold." @jess161895 pointed out, "Hair is a very personal thing and very much a part of our identities. It doesn’t matter what culture we come from or our ethnicity. Our hair is a very important factor. It is our crown! The fact that you are open enough to let him practice on you says so much. Thank you for being so kind and allowing a father to let his barriers be broken."
