She wanted a photo at their wedding church after 17 years. He unexpectedly opened the door, and she gasped

No matter how long you have been married, you should never stop doing little things to keep the spark alive. Be it dating, paying compliments, flirting — things you used to do while courting each other — it doesn't take a lot to remind your partner that they're still at the top of your mind.  With time, most couples find the same things overrated that they once loved doing together, and even before they realize it, they drift apart, eventually deciding to end their relationship. However, only a few who understand the importance of rekindling love and romance lead a happy, long-lasting married life. For instance, take Tera Wages (@terawages on Instagram), who was blown away when she realized what her husband had planned for their wedding anniversary.

The night before their anniversary, Wages requested her beloved husband to take a picture at the church where they got married. When they arrived, she had no clue that her husband had planned something so beautiful for their special day. After a quick romantic dance just outside the church, the man asked his wife if she wanted to go inside. At first, Wages thought he was joking since there was no way he could have the keys. Fortunately, it turned out that her husband not only had the keys, but he had also planned for an extravagant surprise inside the church. The moment Wages stepped inside, she was welcomed with the same song that she had walked down the aisle to on her wedding day. "Then he pulls out his wedding vows and reads from the same paper he read from 17 years ago," she revealed.

Soaking in the special moment, Wages could no longer control her emotions as she was captured on video, breaking down in tears. "I saw you and I loved you!" Wage confessed to her husband. Moreover, the woman ended the video by sharing some special throwback memories with her husband, revealing the long journey they have had together. "17 years of magic. 17 years of surprise. I can’t put into one video the moments we have shared. I hope one day our kids will break into our vault of experiences & feel the joy & deep love we carry," Wage wrote in the caption.

The Instagram reel quickly went viral, garnering over 6 million views within a few days. Several people were clearly overwhelmed by the man's meaningful gesture for his wife as @jeraa.rn commented, "This is why I truly believe in soulmates and soul ties — you asked him if you guys could take a picture because your soul knew what he was planning, even though you didn’t quite know yet. This is so beautiful!" Similarly, @brianalee107 shared, "Ladies. WAIT for this kind of love. Stop expecting these boys who want a mommy, a cook, a house cleaner, or a nanny for their children. Who doesn’t want to carry any of the mental load of life… Wait for a true partner. They are out there."

Meanwhile, @ashleyyl29 revealed, "I met your husband and boys on a camping trip in CA a couple of summers ago. We were hanging out around the campfire, and you called him. To this day, I remember hearing the way he spoke to you on the phone and then about you, and I was so inspired by it. It was abundantly clear the love and respect you have for each other. This only confirms the impression he left."
