She used to receive messages from her husband's number calling her 'lazy' and 'useless,' but it may not have been him

The phone buzzes on the nightstand, a familiar rhythmic vibration that usually signals a mundane check-in about grocery lists or school pickups. However, for one 35-year-old woman, who has been married for 10 years and is a mother of two boys, every chime of the phone became a source of psychological dread, according to Two Hot Takes (@twohottakes), who put forward this bizarre story on their Instagram account, garnering over 45,000 likes and 3.7 million views since April 22.
The story starts with the woman, who has been living an ideal life and is in a happy marriage. However, things take a turn when she starts receiving hateful texts from her husband's phone number whenever he is in the office. The messages were cold, calling her "lazy" and "useless." At first, she thought it would've been some sort of mistake, given that whenever her husband returned home, he'd be completely normal. But this went on for a while and got to the point when she just couldn't ignore it anymore.

So, she decided to confront her husband, who also looked quite confused, claiming that he'd lost his phone and he wasn't the one sending those messages. While she thought that this would finally stop those texts, that wasn't the case. Still, every time her husband was in his office, she'd receive insane texts. As you'd expect, one day she finally gave in and confronted her husband, insisting that he was lying, yet he still seemed clueless and claimed that it might be someone who was trying to mess with them.
But this time, she wasn't having any of it and said that if he hated her so much, he should just tell her that to her face. Following this fight, she headed to her mother's home. However, the texts just didn't stop despite all of this. She seemed baffled by all this and decided to finally get her hands dirty and get to the root of this matter. And she did exactly that. As it turns out, her husband was having an affair with another woman, who happened to stumble upon his lost phone and was the one sending those texts.

The affair epidemic across the U.S. is real, and they're leading the chart globally, with almost 71% of the people surveyed by the PR Newswire attesting to cheating at some point in their lives. Germany and the U.K. come close with 68% and 66%, respectively. Additionally, data reveal that 31% of affairs happen between co-workers. Specifically, 9% of non-management and low-management employees report infidelity, a figure that more than doubles to 24% among middle management and rises to 37% for upper management.

That said, no wonder people were feeling bad for the woman, who was living a happy life until now. For instance, @mryan8889 wrote, "Even if she was sending the messages, he knew. He had to know they were coming from her and did nothing. She’s better without him." Meanwhile, @misspeace88 suggested that the woman was quite patient with the entire situation, perhaps a bit too much. "I’d be gone with the kids by the time he got home from work after the first time! He wouldn’t get a chance to do that to me a second time!!" She commented.
