Some people drop subtle hints about their dream wedding ring, but one woman took a more direct approach. Instead of leaving clues, she packed a note inside her boyfriend’s “Marry Me” sandwich—clearly outlining how her ring should be. A year later, he surprised her with the perfect proposal, proving he had saved her note all along. Taylor, who goes by @biscuitsfanclub on TikTok, shared her unique love story in a series of posts.

A year earlier, Taylor posted a video revealing that she had made a “Marry Me” sandwich for her boyfriend—something so delicious, it was meant to make him propose. Jokingly, she declared, "If I don't get engaged by my boyfriend after he comes home from a long day at work at 7 o'clock and eats the sandwich I made for him, it's over." She described it as a masterpiece, saying, "I will show you. This sandwich is like 10 layers. It's the most gorgeous sandwich I have ever seen in the world." Taylor had even built an arsenal of “Marry Me” recipes over the years, constantly adding to them. Confidently, she added, “He’s going to do it!”

“It’s gorgeous,” Taylor said, showing off the sandwich before revealing another one she had made for his lunch the next day. Playfully holding up her empty ring finger to the camera, she added, "Just marry me already, please." Sometime later, after her boyfriend had proposed, Taylor shared a video of herself slipping a note with ring instructions into his sandwich—two years earlier. "This is a video of me writing exactly what I wanted on a post-it note two years ago and stuffed it into the sandwich I dubbed the 'marry me' sandwich," the text overlay read. She carefully tucked the note inside the foil before wrapping it up, detailing her dream ring: an emerald-cut diamond, no smaller than 1.75 carats, with either a solitaire band or baguette accents.

The ring had to be "no halo and no pave," and her size was 5.5—Taylor made sure every detail was crystal clear. More than a year later, when he finally proposed, he revealed that he had saved the note all along. Taylor later shared a photo of herself beaming with joy, holding both the ring and the note—thrilled that she got exactly what she wanted. In the comments, people flooded her post with congratulations and shared their thoughts on her clever strategy. Some even chimed in with their own stories and tips on how to get the exact ring they wanted. @lifewithk96 wrote, "I made a guide with picture examples, but I still ended up going and picking it out in the end anyways, lol." @chrissylaws suggested, "Download Pinterest on their phone. Make a board with all the rings you want. They start getting targeted ads for said rings." @verovee628 remarked, "This really helps. I told my boyfriend at the time no princess, no solitaire. I gave three I would love: round, radiant or oval. I got round with diamonds on my band. Very happy."

@kenzdobb shared, "I fully trusted my husband's choosing, 'cause the only time my clothes get complimented are the ones he bought/picked. Some of us girlies don't have good taste!
