'She not only did some exceptional knitting to build her crochet outfit from scratch, but also completed it in just 45 days.'
Wedding dresses are special; well, a little extra when the brides decide to stitch them. When Veronica Lindberg Heino (@kutovakika) and her fiancé bought a house, they thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get married. However, it wasn't until Veronica began her shopping that she realized how expensive wedding dresses could be. Initially, she decided to make her own dress, but soon dismissed the idea. However, the insanely costly wedding dresses eventually convinced her to go back to her original plan.
She not only did some exceptional knitting to build her crochet outfit from scratch, but also completed it in just 45 days, and that too, with a budget of just $300! For her wedding gown, Veronica ordered nearly 50 skeins of pure silk yarn. "I have no idea in three weeks' time if it’s going to be tears and frustration," she said, hoping things would go as planned. She didn't jump directly into knitting, and in fact, took some time off to sketch up a design for her wedding dress. Things initially didn't exactly turn out the way she wanted, as Veronica wasn't happy with the outfit a week before her wedding. However, in the end, she had to undo a big part of her dress to achieve what she wanted. "Today is going to be an emotional day, and while I’m still somehow clear-headed, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who’s been following along my journey of making this dress," Veronica said in her post, where she was seen donning her wedding dress.

At a time when the average cost of a wedding dress is about $2,000, as per The Knot, brides like Veronica must consider making their own outfits if they can. Veronica posted a YouTube video, taking her audience through the process of making her wedding dress, right from scratch. Everyone loved it and appreciated her for being able to put up with so much despite the wedding stress. For instance, @qiae5047 commented, "I can't believe you managed to knit a dress, plan a wedding, and move house in six weeks; you are on another planet. It looked absolutely stunning on you. Congratulations and best wishes for your life together!" @fredahwiwu5219 wrote, "The fact that this dress is usable after the wedding makes it 10/10, and it's gorgeous."
@annefisher6323 wrote, "This may in fact be the most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen. Proves you don't have to spend a fortune to have a beautiful, meaningful, and enjoyable wedding day. Your dress is an absolute treasure." Another person, @aitherea, said, "The dress turned out to be so lovely, and honestly, it is such a special thing. If you ever have any children, it is something that could be passed down. Even if no one does end up wearing it, I really feel like that dress should become a treasured family heirloom! If I had a mother or grandmother who passed down a dress like that, I would be frothing at the mouth to get married just so I could wear that." @clutching.my.pearls commented, "Your crochet skills are superior, and your dress absolutely fits the surroundings. So beautiful and yet elegantly simple."
