A woman (u/altrdmind on Reddit) found a heartfelt note her dad had written for her, but before she could go and hug him, he had passed away. The daughter, still mourning her Daddy's loss, turned to Reddit to share the beautiful lines her father left her — a true testament to the love he always felt for his child. The heartfelt post has secured 11K upvotes so far.

Two weeks after she lost her father, the woman found a note that read, "You are more precious than diamonds, more pure than gold. I love you, and I am so proud that you are my daughter. I love you, PS; it’s all I had!" The woman was truly touched by her late father's beautiful words and confessed that she carries the letter in her purse, wherever she goes. Notably, she had also found two more handwritten letters her dad had written for her and said, "I’ll do something with them, maybe frame them and put them near his ashes." Moreover, the daughter explained that every time her father left some money for her, he would leave notes, saying, "It's all I had," so the letter she found after his death was perhaps written when she was a teenager and had no job. Losing a parent is never easy, no matter how old you are. In fact, according to a study by Debra Umberson, the death of a parent may trigger many health-related issues that may further increase the risk for cognitive impairment throughout life.

The woman, too, must have gone through similar stress, but perhaps it was the letters she found from her father that helped her cope with the unimaginable grief. Meanwhile, reacting to the post, u/crybysmiling commented, "My dad also passed away 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, we did not have the greatest relationship, as he passed from end-stage liver disease due to alcohol addiction, and you can guess how that affected things, but anyway, I literally got done going through one of his boxes of his items and sat down and saw your post. Even though your dad wrote this for you, you can tell him thanks from a random person on Reddit who kind of needed to see it too."

Similarly, a user who goes by u/goeatacookie wrote, "What a priceless gift! I would frame it after I had the 'I love you. PS, it's all I had,' copied and tattooed where I could see it and feel it every day." Echoing the sentiments, u/dsprinting wrote, "My father was the cornerstone in my life, and because of that, we were very close. After his passing, I went through all his belongings and found several notes he had left for me. Treasures! I've carried on that by leaving notes for my sons at moments of reflection and love for them. (My dad has been gone for nearly 10 years, and it took me forever to create this post, thinking about him)." Another person, u/bondbiscuits007, shared, "You were meant to find that in this moment. I tattooed a short, handwritten message from my dad on my arm the year he passed away. I’ll never get tired of seeing the sweetness I came from. Hugs to you!"
