Jessica Beard saw her husband's chat with a lady and texted her back, pretending it was him

Liars and cheaters think they will get away with anything, but sometimes, one detail is enough to give everything away. Jessica Beard was on Ieshia McArthur's (@imieshiadanielle) "Between Me & You" podcast on September 16, 2026. Beard revealed how she discovered her husband's affair on her way home from work. The "other woman" shared one detail about her house, and that was enough proof. The video received 587,000 views, 24,900 likes, and 1,848 comments.
One day, Beard's husband picked her up from work. On their way home, she asked for her husband's phone to text a friend, since her phone was dead. She had a gut feeling he had been doing something behind her back, so she went through it. She saw his chat with a woman and pretended to be him and texted her back. When the woman replied, Beard got all she needed. When they got home, she walked inside the house but walked right back outside, got in the car, and left. During her drive, she texted the other woman and asked if she would be okay to hop on a call with her, clarifying, "I don't wanna debate or argue anything." So, the two women started talking.

The first thing that Beard said to the woman on the phone was, "This is his wife." The other woman was audibly shocked because she did not know the man she was seeing was married. Beard continued, "I kind of wanted to talk to you because he's married, and he's in ministry." The woman followed, "Like, a preacher in ministry," and Beard confirmed. The other woman could not believe what was happening to her.
Then she told Beard that she might have been in her home, asking, "In your house, in the bathroom, is there something that looks like an oven or a curler or something sitting on top of this white cabinet?" The question was too specific, which confirmed the woman had been in her house. Apparently, her husband brought his mistress home when she was away for the weekend. The only thing Beard asked her husband after talking to the woman was, "Did you change my sheets?"

Unfortunately, being married does not stop people from cheating. The worst part is that in most cases, the affair partner is not even aware that the other person is in a relationship. A 2022 YouGov poll found that 44% of men knew that the person they were involved with was in a monogamous relationship, while 39% of women confessed the same. A 2012 Essence survey revealed that 22% of the cheaters were caught because of technology, either through texts, messages, emails, or calls. Beard found the first clue (chats) on his phone. 10% also revealed that they found out about their partner's affair through the other woman.

Netizens were begging Beard to complete the rest of the story, while others were impressed by the way she handled the situation. @risingstrongfoundation asked, "Did you pick out his suit for the funeral? Was it wide-leg or fitted?" @cherry.sweater added, "Way too old to be playing detective. The moment you feel the need to investigate is the time to leave."
